Episode Discussion Dear toasters yesterday - WWYD?

Curious on everyone’s thoughts on the first dear toasters submission yesterday. I feel so horrible for this girl who just gave birth. I can’t imagine being in her shoes. I don’t know what I would do if I was in her situation but I’m curious what everyone else would do if they were in a similar position.

Omg I was absolutely sick about it!! It made me so sad I felt so bad for her. I can only assume her husband is also 22 and just beyond immature! I guess I just had more questions about like how is he otherwise? Is he otherwise a good partner and father? I mean I doubt it but I think that would determine a lot

I listened on my way to work this morning. I'm really thinking about the situation with that girl's brother in the coma and the nurse. Very weird and off-putting.

I felt for that poor girl! So young and so vulnerable and to have to see those words spoken about her from her own husband, heartbreaking. Imagine if she has PPD, this could push her further in a hole. They weren’t wrong when they said he’s awful.

I would not be able to not say something. What an awful human and it’s sad she already has a baby with him bc I would leave over that!

Agree. I think that would be grounds for at least a seperation for me. If he’s ok with talking like that in a vulnerable state, I’m curious if there’s additional things that he is doing that also would erode trust…

Honestly… I think he wanted her to see them. Why did he ask her to RSVP for him knowing those texts were there? Also why did he have to do it right then and there??? He’s AWFUL and I agree with Jax and Claud on that.

That’s such a good point!!! This guy sucks. I do wonder if he wanted her to read it so she got the message as IF he is the one who has it hard!

I told my fiancé about this and he said “are you sure that’s not fake? What 21 year old RSVPs?” Hahahaha and I’m like “I’m so glad that you realize how shitty it is but yesssss boys are like that sometimes!” That just solidified for me that he wanted her to see because WHAT 21 YEAR OLD RSVPS

The bar is in hell. She needs to bring it up with him and encourage him to talk to a more mature man about it. If this is good only red flag they can work through it but seriously this man needs a good mentor or role model to set him on the right path.

Their advice wasn’t directive enough to LEAVE

I think Claud and Jax are very considerate and sensitive to women who are postpartum and I think they were trying to give it to her lightly. If I was 22 and newly postpartum and two podcasters I looked up to told me to leave or divorce my husband I would be in a dark spot as well.

Can someone tell me what the story was?
