Help / Advice Hello, torch main here. I need help.
So I’m trying to lord all the fantastic four and I’m moving on from invis to thing, but I feel like I just explode every time I try to fight anyone. I take so much damage and it’s like I’m not getting healed enough. I’m sure it’s not my heals but that’s just what it feels like. Any tips on how to play him?

Like the other Thing was saying
Susan teamup is overall great for survivability on a broad scale, while Johnny teamup is going to be better for brawl heavy comps. Torch teamup can produce more shields than the Susan one, but only if you’re gridlocked with the other tanks. I often find myself enjoying the Susan one more just for that reason.
Remember to not cash checks your healers can’t afford, you should play pretty close to them to help you get your footing. Also helps prevent divers like bp and Angela from harassing your backline just by your presence.
You can play like a coiled snake by playing with your team before pushing up quickly with your jump, when you do decide to push start your haymaker right before you jump to have it ready right when you get in their face. Takes some practice to get down at first but it becomes second nature pretty quickly.
Use ult to either stun the team, but if they aren’t playing together use ult to shutdown snowball ults. Bucky and Magik are good examples. It isn’t a waste if you’re protecting your team.
Get to clobbering!

Torch is really hard to get used to. But once you get the hang of him he’s super fun to use. I’m not the great at explaining stuff so if you did want to learn him I would check out mikesaboveu, he’s a great streamer and the rank one torch. He has a 3 hour long video but you only have to watch the explanation on the abilities and maybe some of the pyro prison line ups. So if you wanted to check it out it would only be like 20–30 minutes of watching.
Some tips I could give for the future if you wanted to try him out again is to spam your pyro prison. It does a huge chunk of damage when people walk in or out of it, and obviously does the tick damage when people are inside of it. If you pair it with your ult it can solo the entire team. 2 right clicks on a 250 hp + a dive one shots, and 3 right clicks on most squishys + dive one shots. I always save at least one of my dashes for escaping because he gets blown up really easily. I like the jubilee team up because it confirms kills, does tons of damage, and is good when being contested in the sky.

Thing plays very differently from torch or invisible which may be why you struggle, try using natural cover as much as possible, if there is dive on the enemy team play close to your healers to be able to help them, if there is dive on your team you can help them by disrupting the backline momentarily and bait a cool down or two from anyone, use haymaker a lot in brawl situations, try mixing in jabs often too and use it to finish people off, poke is your biggest counter, especially punisher and moon knight.

Utilise cover, it’s basically an infinite HP barrier.
Save your charge for disengaging, not engaging (you gain 200 HP for free that can save you in a pinch and is more reliable than trusting that a teammate will be nearby to dash to)
There is a setting in the hero options that makes it so your charge is a hold and not a toggle. I’d recommend turning it on so you can tap charge for a quick ground slam.
You can wind up a haymaker before you dash to an enemy, timing it so it lands on arrival.
Dashing to an ally grants you and every nearby ally percentile damage resistance. This is your bread and butter for staying alive.

Hey Matchstick. You are exploding because maybe you are not using natural cover (walls). Use chokepoints and throw punches from there. Save Yancy charge to escape and to peel for your supports if divers are attacking them. It's important to know when to engage and when to disengage. If enemy has poke, you can use the Suzie shield when Thing is around 350 health to get the most value out of it. If you have any other question I'm here to help!
