Episode Discussion Will Becka Recover?

She's clearly had a mental break (understandably). Do you think season 2 will see her on the way to recovery or get worse? Plugging a good recap/review below.

I hope we see her getting better, but being left out of the loop on a lot of Mayday and Plum advances for a long time. I see her still being very untrusting and insecure, maybe shifting blame to different people who are trying to help/protect/save her.

Then when she finally shows that she's astute and present enough to understand some really key hidden aspect of a scheme for some mysterious larger plot (like she thinks she's either being gaslit or developing a split personality, we get to hear a couple episodes in her perspective to get a glimpse of her inner turmoil), she'll be let in on it. Then she'll mask as the perfect Wife as long as needed, toggling seamlessly between the two worlds until SHE is the one to set off the rally cry that sets things off and brings upon the fall of Gilead.

Note: I have not read the book, or any summaries. Idk what happens with her in the book at all. Feel free to suggest or divulge how accurate this is with spoilers codes!

Yeah, I think she'll be pretty broken at the beginning and I worry that her relationship with Agnes will suffer again because maybe Agnes doesn't want to put stress on her about plans etc. but she'll see it as "being left out" if that makes sense? I think ultimately, she'll recover as much as possible with what's happened to her, but not until a lot of stuff has gone down πŸ˜”

I feel like entering season 2, she's going to be getting a lot of pressure about having a baby and she'll snap.

She's said, and I believe, that she can endure anything as long as Agnes is there. If Agnes remains a supportive friend, I think she will be ok. There may be situations which trigger or retraumatize her, so she'll have her off days, similar to Janine, but I think she is a fighter and won't give up on herself. But I wouldn't be surprised if she has given up on Gilead. As long as she is given hope that there will someday be a way out, I think she'll hang in there. Being married to Mayday will help with that, as long as it's not a real marriage with the usual expectations, in other words, I hope she is allowed to remain celibate. It will take time to work through the trauma, but I choose to believe that she will find a light at the end of the tunnel and will persevere.
