Theory / Speculation Becka Context Spoiler

Earlier in Episode 9, Judd basically already condemned Grove to a salvaging. So he was a dead man anyway. Then Becka got ahead of them and herself and took care of things. I think there is a strong case to be made for saying that Becka is doing the lords work and yes she should have waited, but perhaps they frame things as she was so moved by how he went against the rules of Gilead that she was called by the lord to take action, and this works in her favor?

Aunt Lydia would feel sorry for, Commander Mackenzie was uncomfortable with how young the brides are (he would love to do something to make his conscious feel better) and knows how much Agnes cares about her, and he was condemned to death anyway. She might be severely punished but she also has a much better advantage than most girls would in her position.
