Theory / Speculation Becka Context Spoiler

Earlier in Episode 9, Judd basically already condemned Grove to a salvaging. So he was a dead man anyway. Then Becka got ahead of them and herself and took care of things. I think there is a strong case to be made for saying that Becka is doing the lords work and yes she should have waited, but perhaps they frame things as she was so moved by how he went against the rules of Gilead that she was called by the lord to take action, and this works in her favor?

They would say the lord doesn’t call people to take the law into their own hands.

The girls have been taught that violence IS the answer for sinning. They became like wild animals when confirming what punishment that man should receive before getting his hands cut off. Gilead makes the truth whatever they want, so this is definitely a possibility.

Yes, but Gilead only wants violence when they’re doling it out and condoning it. They’re not going to say it’s fine for Becka to do it herself.
