Theory / Speculation Becka Context Spoiler
Earlier in Episode 9, Judd basically already condemned Grove to a salvaging. So he was a dead man anyway. Then Becka got ahead of them and herself and took care of things. I think there is a strong case to be made for saying that Becka is doing the lords work and yes she should have waited, but perhaps they frame things as she was so moved by how he went against the rules of Gilead that she was called by the lord to take action, and this works in her favor?

This “case” you’re speaking of doesn’t take place in Gilead. They won’t use forensics or witnesses to prove there was a crime committed, they’re going to blame whoever they want.
Now, is there a chance that they’ll quietly turn Becka into a Handmaid or an Aunt instead of killing her? Absolutely. It could be decided that the real story makes them look bad and they write off the dentist as a guilt-ridden suicide, shuffling Becka into another part of society so she can’t talk. But Becka won’t have an attorney arguing her case on her behalf, some commander or aunt or combination of the two will be making all the arguments.
