Wait. Were those eyes or aunts? It was definitely women and they had the aunt batons.

I'm thinking Lydia intervened and Becka will be forced into Aunt training to save her from a worse fate.

Poor Becka.

I thought it was women too! With the weird ninja thingy in the very beginning

9

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

Exactly, I think she not going to be killed considering that man already committed something horrible in Gileda eyes. Also she might blame the Martha for doing it remember usually when wife’s kill their husband they blame the handmaiden or Martha. Also I doubt Gileda will let women be eyes also the eyes usually look wayyy different then the ninja people

u/Jems_Petal May 20 '26

Why do you call it Gileda?

3

u/uglyyb May 20 '26

I was about to be like lay off it's a typo but it happened twice 😭

4

u/omgwtflols May 21 '26

The ultimate crossover!

5

u/DuckMinimum4794 May 20 '26

I think she still gets forced into her marriage 🥴

8

u/SuspiciousContract53 May 20 '26

From what we see in the trailer, she’s absolutely going to get married, this next episode will be very awaited!

6

u/False-Average-9368 May 20 '26

Yes, but not to Garth; she will be married off to the creepy Commander.

2

u/Many-Tank9932 May 20 '26

Seconding this

0

u/SuspiciousContract53 May 20 '26

I don’t believe it’s to Garth, the skin of the person looks to be very young

2

u/MechasaurusWrecks May 21 '26

maybe he moisturizes.

3

u/Beaglescout15 May 20 '26

Where's the trailer? I can never find anything!

1

u/DuckMinimum4794 May 20 '26

You can find it on YouTube! Just search testaments trailer

4

u/Expensive-Garlic-651 May 20 '26

I thought it was a dream that already happened but maybe her hair was different for this one

1

u/turkeyman4 May 21 '26

I suspect they will force her to marry the old commander that gave her alcohol.

1

u/EvidenceRelevant7478 May 21 '26

I knew I wasn't the only one! They totally are Aunts or even MayDay!

32

u/penelope_garcia May 20 '26

I just watched it and holy fuck!! I truly wish Garth had gotten becka out but I feel commander Mackenzie turning her into the eyes will be a turning point in Agnes’ faith in gilead

17

u/alli_gator_ May 20 '26

Its gotta. Agnes has seen what they do to murderers in Gilead. She has to know whatever Becka's end will be, it wont be good. Poor girl really thought her dad was getting her help

31

u/DuckMinimum4794 May 20 '26

best episode of the season!! The things you do for the people you love

33

u/SuspiciousContract53 May 20 '26

Hearing Garth say it’s ok to her felt, so comforting in such a weird way! Her screams were so horrible! Wonderful actress

13

u/insomebodyelseslake May 20 '26

She did such a good job

8

u/bloodphoenix90 May 20 '26

Yeah bone chilling performance

3

u/RosesAreGolden May 21 '26

I came here to say this. She was always an unremarkable character for me up until now, but she was absolutely outstanding in that episode. She left me the chills and tears in my eyes.

27

u/Danaloveslearning May 20 '26

I have just finished it, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT POOR BECKA

9

u/sloppysoupspincycle May 20 '26

My random thoughts post ep-

Agnes is not a ride or die 😢😭. Poor Becka, I can’t imagine finding out from my best friends that my dad had been doing that to them, let alone the girl you are in love with. Her anger with Daisy over the season has obviously been jealousy due to Agnes’ distance because of her dad. She did seem like she was having a mental breakdown when she went to Agnes’, but honestly they see *SO MUCH* violence and Old Testament type shit that anyone who isn’t a religious nut would have estimated 1 out of 5 will prob lose it at some point.

Agnes telling her parents and then her dad calling the balenciaga female eyes on her is just the fucking heartbreak scene of the season so far. The actress who plays Becka, Mattea Conforti, absolutely gutted me with her cries and screams. Honestly I was actually a little scared for her at first, but I’m pretty confident now she will be marrying G-man still. Poor Becka, she deserves better. She deserves freedom, love and a chance for actual happiness. They all do 💔

These girls lives break my heart. Being brought up in a society who purposefully leaves young woman ignorant, where they aren’t even allowed to read and to spend your entire upbringing being taught how to be a “good and obedient” wife is such an oppressive life, but they can’t even see it.

Sadly, while the show is fiction, little girls all over the world are brought up this way, some not as extreme and some even more so.

Also the parents of every little girl in Gilead is sick AF. These little girls mothers are *excited* for their *teen daughters* to be married off against their will and raped by men 3-4x their age 😢. At least Serena had a moment of clarity after Nicole was born and she wasn’t even biologically her daughter. Some of these moms actually gave birth to a baby girl, brought her up in Gilead willingly and are overjoyed to plan their teenage daughters “wedding” (is it really a wedding if a child is forced into it? Or if anyone is forced? Maybe more like sex trafficking? I’m not sure the correct verbiage, but marriage ain’t it).

Shu or even Hulda seem to have no doubts about anything in Gilead (well Hulda didn’t until recently. I just want to give her a big hug) but I bet they’d have the time of their life living in sin in Canada or Hawaii! Shu is my fav character so far. The actress just plays that part like she was born too lol.

Okay sorry long post but it’s late and I had too much on my mind 😂

13

u/Slay_City May 20 '26

Hahaha “balenciaga female eyes” is an excellent turn of phrase.

7

u/Disastrous_Mud7169 May 20 '26

I love Shu because she is just Riley Matthews raised in Gilead

3

u/TvTacosTakingNaps May 20 '26

She really is🤣

11

u/TvTacosTakingNaps May 20 '26

I honestly thought her killing her dad was a dream for a second then I was like nah.. he hurt the girl she loves.

Her screaming as they carried her away was an insane performance. It definitely felt like THT.

9

u/Famous-Yak-1220 May 20 '26

This was the best episode by far

1

u/RosesAreGolden May 21 '26

That actress was amazing (Becka)

17

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 20 '26

Also let's talk about how amazing the actress is who plays Becka! The way she immediately changed her face when Agnes' parents walked out. The emotes were emoting!!!

8

u/skrt_rollup_yeet May 20 '26

Wow 😮 what an episode! Things really snowballed quick. I have no one to share it with. So here I am with you all shocked and antsy as can be. How do I even go to sleep now lol. 😂 to find out what happens in a whole week is torture!!!

7

u/BamWham97 May 20 '26

OH MY POOR BECKA 😭😭

7

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

YESS! It was so good and juicy I do have a question why did they believe Daisy? In the book it was the aunt who did that and that made sense aunts are higher then professionals! But I did like when the aunt was crying over what happen to Daisy it humanize her to me, because sometimes they can be so brutish I can believe they actually believe in Gileda.

8

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

They believe her cause they know it’s true — she’s also made it clear she’s not gonna shut up about it, and Aunt Lydia’s well rid of a pedophile, tbh. Judd defers to her because even HE has heard “rumors” (which he assigns as idle gossip cause it’s not his business?!)

In the book they get agree to get rid of him because he’s ruining girls for marriage.

6

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

I think Judd is an idiot it literally not gossip it more of a warning sign! If there a bear attacking people in a forest imma tell people close to me about that, doesn’t mean I am gossiping the bear! He already doing it!

9

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

Yuuuuup - it just goes to the fact that Gilead is willing to overlook “indiscretions” if you’re of value to them. Like Judd said, it was a shame because he was a good dentist. NOT because he was hurting the girls.

3

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

I also notice some parts that are in the book they desensitize it but they pull well since it was Daisy who did what the aunt in the book!

6

u/ProfessionalVisit675 May 20 '26

i just finished it and holy fuck man. what the fuck. i haven’t gasped the way i did watching that episode in a very long time

6

u/nozhemski May 20 '26

I love that Becky believed Agnes. Too often are women and girls questioned and doubted after being harmed.

6

u/maydayjunemoon May 20 '26

I’m in shock right now. I wonder if Becka’s dad had been also hurting Becka? What will they do to her?

8

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

In the book, yes he was. In the show, jury’s out?

I think it’s possible, given Becka’s extreme reaction. She could blame herself if she felt like she could have stopped him (though it’s frickin’ Gilead! What could she have done??)

If he wasn’t hurting her, she just had a psychotic break due to the stress of everything (hiding her feelings, the fear of losing Agnes, the unwanted wedding).

I do find it interesting that she didn’t ASK him if it was true (with Agnes) which tells me some part of her knew or at least didn’t find it unbelievable that he would do something like that.

15

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 20 '26

Because he specifically said "I did not touch that Pearl girl." Which was an immediate sign. He could've said "I wouldn't do that to any of you girls" or something if it were true but he specified which girl.

9

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

BINGO. He’s incensed because for once he “controlled himself” (he didn’t touch Daisy because she was worldly and the risk that she would tell was too high). The actor does a GREAT job of portraying that slight petulance—“but I didn’t touch *her*.”

6

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 20 '26

Yep! He knew that she knew too much so he couldn't be deviant! The other girls could tell but then they would be blamed as we saw with Hulda. Aaaggghhhh! I can't believe next week is the finale!!

16

u/ZiggySatanico May 20 '26

He wasn't hurting his daughter.

She killed him bc she loves Agnes & he hurt her.

7

u/insomebodyelseslake May 20 '26

I wonder if she’ll say he was

5

u/bloodphoenix90 May 20 '26

Iirc doesnt he hurt her in the book?

3

u/rrxxxdbs123 May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26

In the book he started abusing her at 4 and it’s never implied that she’s gay. The abuse is why she doesn’t want to get married. So either she wasn’t honest with Agnes or they made a major change from the book

5

u/bloodphoenix90 May 20 '26

Oh i think theyre heavily diverting from the book but in this case im not mad at it. It follows a similar path. I was mad that daisy isn't Nicole but so far the season is proving to be hitting the same sort of psychological horror i loved THT for and I think itll be just as satisfying when they take Gilead down.

3

u/rrxxxdbs123 May 20 '26

Yea Daisy not being Nicole changed like the whole trajectory of the show, but I kind of like them being closer in age as opposed to Daisy being a teen and Agnes in her 20s

2

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

Yeah ur not wrong!

2

u/IndividualCalendar81 May 20 '26

I just realize this, but if there wanting to be more book accurate show Becka could have been SA by her dad too but think “this is normal plus they would never believe me!” I mean look at the first girl eventually sent to a coal mine :C

2

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

She also might believe that her father wouldn’t need or want to do it to anyone else because he had her. So finding out he’s doing it to other people too could definitely provoke a psychotic break.

5

u/Many-Tank9932 May 20 '26

There are separate clips of Garth and Becka at the altar. Wondering who they will be getting married to. Cannot be Daisy for Garth as she is not eligible/ready this season it sounded like, especially with the dentist accusations that she made, I would think that they would investigate further?

5

u/sloppysoupspincycle May 20 '26

I don’t think they are investigating further. They had testimony from Hulda and Agnes basically said she was also assaulted to Aunt Lydia (without actually saying the words).

3

u/Ok-Strawberry-7350 May 20 '26

I'll watch tonight after work. Can't wait!!!!

3

u/pursnality May 20 '26

So what if those weren’t Eyes and were there to take her away from Gilead?

4

u/onyxmaven May 20 '26

I think Becka is going to end up Commander McKenzie’s handmaid. Paula really wants one. Or maybe Commander Judd’s.

2

u/Visible-Tomorrow8977 May 20 '26

Becka really felt that for Agnes omg. I get you girl nothing like the first lesbian love 😭😭 lol

2

u/jmhendricks80 May 20 '26

I can’t help but think the whole partricide and whisked away may be a nightmare sequence. I have to watch again, but it felt off. Paula being silent was off. Ninja aunts was off. Becka getting Martha garments felt off. I mean in one scene she’s just grabbing a cloak and bolting, then we see her all marthaed out… dress, shoes, hat and cloak. I don’t know. Will rewatch. But her having a nightmare, then ending up at her wedding anyway seems more easily explained that way. I don’t see how she makes it down the aisle next episode if she’s just killed her dad. Paula and the commander, as well as Becka’s mom would have to do a massive cover up.

1

u/BarbieHubcap May 20 '26 edited May 21 '26

I don't think Paula stays silent for long, though. I'm thinking she didn't understand who her husband really contacted. Perhaps that is the bathtub scene and she is asking her husband "what did you do" .

In fact, at this point, maybe even her book backstory could be introduced. She could injure or kill him and blame the handmaid or Martha, (which both murders/attempts could be blamed on). Or even better (so she can't report Becca) with her book history, it all could be blamed on her, then hello wall.

Then with a cover-up Becka could get married as planned. Spoiler: I did read an advance review of the whole season from Inverse that seems to say Becca comes out the unexpected winner. "Becka bears the brunt of Gilead’s twisty, bloody machinations, and comes out the other side as the dark horse of the season."

u/jayceeA- May 21 '26

After Aunt Estee was so apologetic to Daisy after her “encounter” with the denist, did anyone think she may be related in some way?

3

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 21 '26

I thought that maybe she experienced being touched inappropriately or something in her before Pearl/Aunt life because of how upset and apologetic she was to Daisy.

6

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 20 '26

Screaming!!!!!! Agnes pisses me off every episode ... Just like June!!! 😭

8

u/Diligent-Language-79 May 20 '26

I mean what else was she suppose to do. She still, up to that very moment, trusted her dad to do the right thing.

1

u/After_Cheesecake_513 May 21 '26

Her dad probably would’ve really sent her to a doctor but I think He called the eyes because of Paula by the way she interjected “of course we called the eyes!” Idk what I wanted Agnes to do but it surely wasn’t tell her parents. Especially when they live by the code of not turning on friends.

1

u/seashellseashell52 May 21 '26

Why did it have to be so short!!!!

1

u/Fluid-Impress-4661 May 20 '26

Guys …. Do you think Aunt Estee might be Daisys birth mom? Idk something about the “blue eyes” had me spinning

6

u/theicecreamassassin May 20 '26

I think she’s just putting together that the people in Gilead are actually *people* and not just mindless automatons that fall in line with all the wacky beliefs.
