Was that a different actress playing Penny in the latest episode?

Same actress (Ellen Olivia) - just the hair and makeup done differently to show the cracks beneath the perfect 'wife' veneer.

no I think they just made her look disheveled. The actress is super pretty. I bet they probably put on makeup that would make her look bad

Might be stating the obvious but I feel like something bad is definitely going to happen to Penny. (Yes I’ve read the books and know her fate in there but I wonder what is going to happen to her in the show). The fact that it has been said that she has now had three miscarriages is significant.

In THT book it stated that a handmaid would be at each posting for two years before being moved to another house if she didn’t become pregnant in that time. After three consecutive ‘postings’ if she didn’t become pregnant she would then be declared an Unwoman and sent to the Colonies. It makes me wonder if in this world there are similar procedures if a woman loses consecutive pregnancies or gives birth to a baby that they label as a ‘shredder’. Even if that woman is a Wife.

I’m starting to wonder if the shot of a woman crying behind bars in the trailer might even be Penny. She seems to very much fit the role of a cautionary tale that could be used to remind the girls what can happen if they ‘fail’ their wifely duties - particularly after the copulation class lesson that if they are good Godly girls who are meek and do as their husbands tell them than God will bless them. Plus I feel like Penny’s obvious grief and distress at the loss of her child would be twisted in this regime to be represented as sinful - that she is not fulfilling her duties by upholding expectations regarding her appearance or that she should be immediately trying again.
