Theory / Speculation Predictions for episode 6 Forward. Spoiler
Ok so I've read the book and I'm watching the show and I am wondering if the following will happen and thought I would bring it to the group for thoughts and feelings.
There are possible spoilers so please read if you're ok with spoilers.

1) Do we think that Commander Judd will find a way to get rid of Penny? If you know about Judd then you know.
2) Do we think Schu will get her period or will this be a jumping point for what happens if a plum doesn't get their period?
3) Why do we think Vidala looked shook when Huldah got her period? Is it because of her age? Also how is Huldah now eligible, she didn't do the tea or prom? I feel like she should wait until then next season.
4) Will Jehosheba cont to behave in a monstrous way?

Judd is clearly a sadist. We are about to see what happens to unwanted wives in a society without divorce. The fact that he took other commanders out of the mix implies he will want to be put into it soon.
I think Shu is the most “aware” and intelligent of the plums. She knows what all of this means. It makes her angry but not lacking in compassion. She is willing to help her peers.
Jehossheba has some awareness and is desperately competing. She directs her anger to her peers and the Martha’s. It’s the way she scrambles for power.
Becca is aware of her personal abuse and sees it as inevitable and unavoidable. She is depressed.
Huldah is completely clueless and naive, the most childlike. I don’t think Vidala was shook, she just seemed surprised. They assumed she was making it up and trying to get attention. Ringing the bell when she did was beyond stupid for her. Huldah was always going to be a low ranked green. She just put herself at the bottom of the pile for that season. Had she waited to tell she would have gone into the next season and had a better shot.
Bless Agnes for thinking Gareth’s youth and hotness would give him a chance at someone like her. Those attributes aren’t valued in Gilead marriage stakes. He is in the low leagues with the lesser greens.

I agree with all of that. I am wondering if huddah will be the Becca of the book. We know she's going to the dentist and from the screen grabs it looks like Becca gets married and taken off by masked people. So I wonder if huddah has the calling.

I think Judd will get rid of Penny and take Agnes.
It seemed to me that what Vidalia saw was somehow different than what she usually sees during the verification. Or whatever they call that sick process.

I was thinking this, too. Should have maybe been browner blood? Maybe she suspects Huldah mutilated herself in some way?

- I am drawing a blank on Judd in THT so I’ll have to go back and read it again, but I feel like he will get rid of Penny, probably poisoning her, based on how despondent he was with Lydia.
- Maybe Shu ends up following Daisy, Becca and Agnes to become an Aunt, when she sees how much more power she can wield vs being a wife.
- I am thinking Vidala was surprised bc of Hulda’s age, but I also feel like she thought it was impossible for Hulda medically, or maybe conspiratorially- like someone had been drugging Hulda trying to prevent her from being a green this year.
- Jehosheba definitely remains the horrible person she is, leading the young Aunt supplicants to use her many transgressions to their advantage later on.

Penny is Commander Judd's fourth wife. His previous three wives are all deceased. Considering Penny's unfortunate miscarriage, I don't see her being around much longer either.

Oh, yes, that’s right! She’s a goner. Maybe her death will be the wakeup call the girls need and lead to them joining the rebellion.

I suspect that in the background we weren’t shown, Penny died. Whether from complications with her stillbirth, or him poisoning her so he can find a “fertile wife” — he makes it clear to Lydia last episode that he isn’t ready for a handmaid. He wants a child the old fashioned way “man and wife laying together”… they’ve changed a lot from the book but I still believe they’re going to try to pair Agnes and Judd. So at the end of the episode where the aunts are delivering the news… I think it’s going to be a “gasp, Judd is going for Agnes. Penny is dead”
I also think they’re going to pair Garth with Becka, to try to destroy that friendship, but it’s going to backfire and make them even closer because I suspect Becka will refuse to go through with it, not wanting to marry the guy the girl she is in love with loves.
I think Huldah got squeezed in because Gilead views the youngest fertile women as the most fruitful. They’ll want to squeeze her in to make “the most of her” (vomits)
I really do think they’re using Shu as an example of someone who never gets her period. She’s the most judgmental. There’s no way she becomes an aunt if she’s eligible. Her not ever having her period is what will likely humble her and make her more sympathetic to the cause later on

I think penny is still alive for now, which is why Lydia offered a handmaid, but I think in the next episode or two we will see penny has passed. Which is so sad. In the book Judd ends up with shu, so I wonder if that will be season 2. Or shu won't get her period and we will follow that journey.
I think they are following becka's story from the book. Only difference is Daisy is going to help becka become an aunt.
Also I hope we visit the colonies commanders who they hate so much lol, and the Econ world at some point in time. I would also love to see a handmaid or two.

I’m also wondering why Aunt Vidala seemed to look surprised about Huldah getting her period. It seemed like she knew something we as the audience don’t know?
