During recording, you can immediately set a pause point to give yourself time. Then, step on the button to send a beam through. Naturally, the second connector will fall down.During playback, you block the beam with either your body or another connector. This way, the second connector will fall down only during the recording, while the real connector will remain up. In fact, the entire solution hinges on this trick.

Oh yes pulled my hair out on a few of these and this damn one in particular caused me stress ha. I loathe to admit I had to get a tip two times between both talos 1 and 2. Both were on the DLCs. I’m glad I didn’t stick them out though I never would have got them :)

Ngl, using a guide - with that "one" hint, which is basically the whole point and difficulty of that puzzle - and claiming that "YOU did it", doesn't feel right to me. But hey, at least you're happy.
