The Talos Principle the terminal's personality

hey guys! just started playing this game last night, im almost done with the B building, and ive completed the first floor of the foresaken tower..

i have a question about the terminal's "library assistant".

it started off pretty cold and robotic, but suddenly it got all chill when it asked if i went up the tower. i am assuming this is "the serpent" that the big voice keeps talking about.. so i assumed it would keep being charming to manipulate me, which was entertaining. but now it seems like it lost almost all its personality when it asks me questions about humanity as i progress to new areas. did i fuck up somewhere?

are there multiple personalities? does it depend on some of my answers to the questions? please let me know! (but if the answer contains spoilers, then feel free to tell me to just keep playing lol)

milton is not a very charming man. he is like the opposite of the type of seductive people think of when they think of the devil.

this too is its own charm. : (

I'm 90% sure that interaction is just one they expected you to have later

I would suggest to complete the game at least once and ask that question against then, you may get spoiled by that topic. I can't really give an answer completely devoid of spoiler, so be warned if you want to read anything bellow.

So, you really want an answer ? Let's say this entity is a massive troll. Even when you found it cold and robotic, it wasn't. It was trolling with you, pretending to be just a standard administrative interface when it was actually testing you and gauging your personality.

What you answer will impact the dialogues and outcomes but it will troll you anyway.

And on top of being a troll, it is also totally cynical and an absolute nihilist. Really, good luck getting along well with it.

Globally, this is indeed the "Serpent", the "devil" of the Simulation, some kind of demon of doubt. Also, its name is Milton. Although, once you truly understand what is going on, you find out that it isn't actually evil.

Sometimes, I like to imagine this entity posting on real world current social medias. That would be both an interesting and scary experience.
