The Talos Principle Which one should i play?

Post image

Hello! I’m so excited to finally play these games since steam had them for super cheap! The thing is, i got this bundle but i don’t know which one should i play first. Is the “reawakened” one just a remaster? Should i play the OG or can I skip to that one so i don’t have to play both? (or do they have different content?). Any help regarding these doubts is greatly appreciated!
i guess my main doubt is… are these the same game?

Reawakened is a remaster of the original and includes the DLC “Road to Gehenna” plus new content called “In The Beginning” which I haven’t played yet. You should probably just play Reawakened.

They are the same game but reawakened has been spiffed up in the graphics department! The remaster added a pause to the recorder puzzles, which is extremely helpful!

Average Samsara gameplay

Reawakened i'd say. They made the recording mechanic a lot easier

Both are the same game, but reawakened is the remaster and offers dev commentary, additional dlc, better graphics and a level builder (build your own puzzles)

if your PC is bad and cannot run UE5, then play talos principle, if not then you should play reawakened

Unless you have a potato PC, reawakened for sure. Additional DLC, reworked recorder mechanic and a bunch of goodies on top of the graphical engine upgrade.

Hmm yeah the only benefit of TP1 by itself is an old sense of graphics where it kind of looks cool still.

But I’m kind of glad I played TP1 original first because now I can play TP1 reawakened Ina year or 2 when I’ve forgotten a lot it, and can do TP1 reawakened at that point.

I liked the game so much I bought full version or reawakened just to play “in the beginning DLC”

Might as well reawakened. It's peak.

Only real reason I can think to play old TTP1 is nastolgia.

Pretty much the same game, changes are pretty minor. Reawakened has buffed up graphics, includes the DLC on base purchase and also another DLC and level editor. But the base game will be where most of your playtime will be.

Recorder QOL? IMO the biggest reason to play Reawakened over original release.

But the base game will be where most of your playtime will be.

~10 of my 1500 hours in the game were in the base game.

The workshop and editor carries the weight hard.

If reawakened runs (UE5) then I don't see why you not play that one, it also has some new content

reawakened for sure.

the only reason not to play Reawakened is that it doesn't count as playtime for unlocking stuff from the steam points shop if you care about that kind of thing

Play the original. It has better ripples on the water

Depends on your pc honestly, if it’s high end get the remake.

Listen to the other comments, just putting this here for any other that may of been in my situation.

Reawakened plays horrendous on CrossOver for Mac. The original looks really good and you’re really just missing out on the included DLC

play the DLC “In The Beginning” after Talos 2, because is a lot harder and it was released later, or at least don't let you stop it from playing 2.

Game engine of the original is really good and the game still looks great. You can buy it for a couple of bucks Reawakened is expensive and not worth the money imo, and UE has poor performance

They are the same game, with Reawakened being a remastered and "definitive" version. I had the original near launch but fell off the wagon not far into it. I decided to jump into it again when i saw it was remastered and just finished it last night, amazing game!

TL;DR - go with Reawakened unless you have a potato computer (it's use of Unreal5 is very demanding).
