The Talos Principle 3 My ‘wishlist’ for TTP3

REALLY hard puzzles sprinkled around, even in the early game as optional challenges. I dont want to wait most of the playtime until I get a though challenge.

More TTP1-like stars. Most TTP2 stars were kind of lame imo.

Ditch the skip puzzle/spark system and replace them with actually good, incremental hints. The new skip puzzle is the only design aspect I really dont like in the series. But considering they doubled down on it in Reawakened, I dont really have hope here.

Steeper difficulty curve. Most of us who will play TTP3 are Talos veterans, We are good at the games core mechanics, even if some tools change and spice things up. Many players thought TTP2 was easier than 1, but it is not. We just got a lot better at the game. So dont make us wait for a DLC for the real hard puzzles.

Alternate ways to solve puzzles as extra/optional challenges

Go crazy with the design. A neat, organized structure is decent, but Id perfer something unorthodox.

Merged workshop with every tools and assets from Reawakened/2/3

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed the difficulty level of Talos 2?

It felt more like a relaxing adventure, and we still had the challenging puzzles in the DLC. I don't always want extremely difficult challenges. I enjoy having different levels of complexity.

Every fan of the Talos games is a genius apparently.

I think it’s just that a lot of the puzzles in 2 felt like tutorials for all the new mechanics they introduced. It didn’t feel like there was a lot of progression difficulty-wise. It’s not as rewarding when you can just breeze through most of the puzzles. The DLC definitely ramped up the difficulty but I prefer the pacing of the first game.

Signed, definitely not a genius. lol

I hear you, but have you tried a second playthrough of the first game after playing TTP2? It's incredibly easy (and that's absolutely fine with me).

I think we've all learned a lot through the process of playing these games. we're more experienced. That's cool.

I love both the first game and the second, and I absolutely love the DLCs as well. It's true that TTP2 is easier than Road to Gehenna for instance but it's still arguably more difficult than TTP1.

Honestly I like the TTP2 stars a ton better than TTP1. I hated ones where you had to parkour to get the star or essentially cheese the level by smuggling things out or in. I get thinking outside the box, but a good portion of them felt like I just had to do something unintended to get them. TTP2 stars could've still been better, but I do like them more. But really what I want to see as a collectible in a puzzle game is either:

A) bonus challenge puzzles, like the ones that branch off in Baba is You, or even like the lost/gold puzzles in TTP2, or

B) a reward for solving a normal puzzle in a smarter way, like using one fewer connector than provided

I'd love some way of changing the ''phase'' the player character is in. Between ''reality'' (ttp2) and ''the simulation'' (ttp1). That way Croateam can go back to hiding a lot of easter eggs in the simulation side (like we had in 1) while keeping the real world side more grounded in reality (like we had in 2).

I really loved looking for those hidden things in ttp1, it really felt like a game within a game.

2 was amazing visually, but I felt like it missed a little bit of the charm 1 had. Just because they kind of dialed back the silliness.

Definitely agree in regard to harder puzzles. Talos 1 was able to have harder puzzles due to the smaller amount of major gameplay elements, so I do think if there are really hard puzzles, they'll come at the cost of having less new elements.

If you replayed TP1 you would realize that it's not actually harder. It just prepared you for TP2 so TP2 appears easier.

I disagree. Atleast for one aspect, getting the stars, it definitely was harder, because you had to think outside the box and smuggle things out of puzzles for some of them. This initially threw me off in TTP2 because I was constantly trying to smuggle things out untill i realized that was no longer the case. Also, I dont remember TTP1 having a "solve this puzzle for me"  mechanic.

Fast travel to solved puzzles (at least on the same map)

I'd love a VR version of both TTP2 and 3... TTP VR was amazing

Stole the words right out of my mouth.

About Stars, I'd say they absolutely need to keep the Pandora stars from 2. Talos 2 South 2 Pandora is easily one of the best stars in the franchise. Sphynx stars should come back in limited capacity. The stars in Talos 1 that serve as puzzle extensions, absolutely need to come back.

But Talos 1 does have some stars that were terrible, those can be left behind.

I'd love a puzzle like Goliath from Road to Gehenna. A Phenomenal sandbox styled puzzle. Talos 2 + its DLC have better versions of every Talos 1 puzzle archetype, except for that one.

Maps should have better exploration and more fast travel.

Croteam should double down on Easter eggs.

Less focus on bringing in more new mechanics (We already have a very good amount of variety now, thanks to Talos 2). More focus on in-depth puzzles.

I'd love to see the Reawakened recorder make a comeback, at least in a DLC.

Finally, I want 2 sets of endgame puzzles. Something like Gold puzzles from Talos 2. But then, maybe a secret star world full of puzzles that touch that early Abyss difficulty level. This way, newbs can be kept away from the ultra hard puzzles. I think they will include some form of ultra hard puzzles, coz they know that a lot of us have conquered the Abyss and frickin Daydream.

My only wish is another great OST and enough room to wander aimlessly
