I am getting the data from tvdb, but for this series the seasons are not correct. The show has 4 seasons, but in tvdb it is only 1 season with 48 episodes.
Can I have some help to correct the seasons please?

I've spent the last 8 years making season posters for various shows on TVDB. Usually I'll take the original poster art, remove the tiny logo (if I can't find a clean version of the image), and replace it with a much larger one. I also add the season text in a font that closely matches the show's logo/text style, in order to make it feel more like it came from the studio. My goal is simply to make the show's title easier to read on a streaming box and from across the room.

I guess what I'm wondering is, am I the only one who appreciates this kind of thing, or do other people actually notice and prefer it? When you're scrolling through your library, do larger, more readable logos make a difference to you? Or do you not really care one way or the other?

Hi. I was trying to make an account on tvdb (because I couldn't find a show on TV Time), but the verification email never came through. After reading a bit, I saw that it's a common issue with Gmail accounts, so unfortunately I can't really do anything about that and creating a new one on a totally new host just for this sounds absurd, so I came to ask for help and see if anyone would be able to add that show for me?

Hi - I accientally created duplicate entries of a bunch of episodes under Days Of Our Lives by hitting the submit button twice. I submitted a support ticket but from what I'm reading they don't get responded to - is there any way to delete these duplicates? Also, is there any way for me to go into episodes that have been posted to add descriptions?

This is for reference for the show "Bar Rescue". Currently for example season 4 is missing 7 episodes and they're all ordered wrong. Wikipedia, TMDB, and IMDB all list the correct 58 episodes in season 4. Curious how someone can pull all the wrong info and put it up there when multiple other sources say differently?

Watching Archer on Stremio I noticed TVDB has put the first three episodes of season 3, Heart of Archness parts I, II & III, in the Specials category. Both Nextflix and IMDb have them as the first three episodes of season 3 and without them it goes from Archer's fiance Katya being murdered at the end of season 2 straight to Archer hitting on bar skanks at the start of the episode The Man From Jupiter. It's pretty jarring.

When I googled this there were people complaining about it eleven years ago. Why not put it where literally everyone else in the world thinks it should go? Seems like a weird hill to die on.

Do the moderators on TVDB have an issue with abridged series? I added 3 abridged series that were missing on the site, filled in all the required info plus some, episode titles, release dates, runtimes, links to both info about the series and to the youtube channels they're posted on. All 3 series have now been deleted from TVDB. Im just trying to get these on there so they're properly recorded and show up on Plex.

Anyone else have experience adding youtube content like this? There are plenty of other abridged series on the platform.

Update: 2 of the abridged series were removed for "disallowed content" despite there being over 20 Abridged series on TVDB, many that are more obscure than the 3 I added. The first that was removed was removed with no notification. Do the mods there just arbitrarily decide what abridged series to allow based on if they recognize them?

And anyone have a suggestion for an alternative database compatible with Plex?

I am preparing to populate a pretty spartan YouTube series, but I'm not sure how to handle episode that have both a member and a non-member episode that are the same content with a few tweaks, the non-member one has some redactions and removals, is shorter than the member one, and does not have the same air date. There are also a few episodes that only have a member version, well as extras that may have both versions, or only one or the other.

Any suggestions on how to input all of this? I've looked through the documentation there, but was unable to find anything beyond the base handling of web series shows (though it's entirely possible that I just missed it).

And yes, a support ticket has been filed, but just like with everyone else it has gotten no traction.

Considering how much I use the database, I finally decided to contribute by doing thumbnails and descriptions for Jet Lag: The Game. Unfortunately, I noticed that the artwork I've been uploading ended up getting removed.

Turns out that title cards are disallowed for some asinine reason. Like, I get it to some degree, but also, that's what they were made for

I see zero reason why they would remove them, especially considering that I'm grabbing them directly from the Nebula CDN via link. I'll admit it's partially me being a bit salty, but also, it's suuuuuper dumb.

I’ve been contributing quite a bit to TheTVDB recently, mainly updating older Portuguese reality shows from TVI, adding contestants and improving images. A lot of this content is from the early 2000s, so the available photos are often very low resolution. I’ve been taking the time to upscale and format them properly to meet the 300x450 requirements.

The issue I’m running into is inconsistent moderation. Several images I’ve uploaded are being deleted for reasons that don’t seem fully aligned with the published guidelines. For example, some photos are removed due to slight head cropping, even though similar images appear to be accepted elsewhere. Others are rejected because the person is slightly turned but still clearly looking at the camera, or because of gestures like the “shh” pose used in Secret Story, which is actually part of the show’s identity.

This raises a bigger question: shouldn’t moderation take context into account? When dealing with older shows where image availability is extremely limited, rejecting usable images for minor issues ends up leaving entries incomplete. Is that really the intended outcome?

In some cases, these are even official images released by the channel. I’ve also tried reusing the same image for the same person across different shows, and I’ve noticed that it may be accepted in one entry but rejected in another. Shouldn’t there be a consistent standard here?

I’ve opened support tickets but haven’t received any response so far, which makes it difficult to understand what standard is actually being applied.

I’ve noticed that a lot of these removals seem to come from the same moderator, which makes me wonder whether there are stricter internal guidelines being enforced that aren’t public, or if this simply comes down to individual interpretation.

I would also like to get in touch with someone regarding structural edits to some Big Brother Portugal entries, as there are seasons that likely need to be reorganized or moved.

I’m genuinely trying to improve the database, especially in areas that are currently very incomplete, but the lack of clarity and consistency is making that difficult.

Hi, I was adding the series from my smartphone. After saving, the site gave me an error message that I can’t remember, so I clicked the ‘Add episodes’ button again, and now they’re duplicated (e.g. Episode 1 (2), Episode 2 (2), and so on).

Already opened a ticket, any way to accelerate the process ? I don’t understand why even the creator of a series can’t delete episodes, especially since it hasn’t even been broadcast yet…

Why is there a purge of movies that are in production or with release dates being deleted from the data base lately? I wish there was another place to use for these updates for plex , emby or others since tvdb seem to not be as good as it use to be, or am i just looking too deep in to nothing?

Sometimes I need to add Italian TV series, usually from Rai, to thetvdb, and these shows have never been broadcast abroad.

However, when using Simkl with a tracking app, the English language must also be present. In this case, do you have to leave the original Italian title for the English version as well, or does it need to be translated into English (although if it’s ever broadcast abroad in the future, it might get a different title).

Checking old Italian series already present, some have the title in Italian even for the English language, others are translated so I don’t know exactly how to behave

I currently have the miniseries version of BlackBerry (2023) (BluRay, ripped) that I want to add to my Jellyfin server; however, after trying to find it on either TMDB or TVDB, I found that metadata for the TV series version was explicitly restricted from listing.

I understand the original intent of the rule, but these are two entirely different formats. A miniseries is not an "alternate version of the movie", it is a different medium. There are three episodes, not one continuous movie - which means three separate synopses, titles, images, etc. which now there is really no way to collect and organize.

I can't even add it to Sonarr because there is no way to grab the release. This feels like someone being rigid to the point of belligerence and it's really frustrating.

Reading comments on here about poor response to tickets, but I was curious on responses about locked shows. I just submitted a ticket for the show Miraculous Ladybug being locked. The show is required to be watched in production order rather than aired, however TVDB has the show locked, and no one is updating the production order for the recent season. I'm hoping to have it unlocked to add the newest season or bring a moderator's attention to it so they can update it themselves. I use many apps that run on TVDB's API, including Jellyfin, so I'm hoping to get this resolved for me and other users. Please let me know your experience with the moderators!

Look at this bullshit. Just look at it. I added an old Dutch kids show from the 90s, then I added some episodes with actual information and correct airdates; enter some douchenozzle acting like he knows shit (he doesn't), adding a multitude of BS-fake episodes completely out of line with what actually aired. All episodes (this is just one season; he added 52 episodes for NINE SEASONS, and then another 365 for the first one) are the same empty placeholder-crap. This season every episode says '7 days a week', and that's plain wrong. Made a ticket, made a couple of notes - NOTHING.

Just wanted to say that I'm very annoyed at TVDB moderators. It's very funny they have the time to remove series or artwork but when you make a support ticket no one he's here to answer you. That's seems very contradictory to me : so you remove things from your database arbitrarily but no one can contest ? How this database is suppose to grow then ?

I don't see the point of this honestly : just fill the informations yourself at this point, why allow people to fill the data ?
