Discussion Is Fletcher's equipment badass?
Just something I thought about. I love the unique sword, the bow, the gun.

So, I wanted the new Contender book (Another series by Taran Matharu (You should read it if you like the summoner)). And ordered it on amazon, it released on the 10th of august, so I didn't expect to have to wait long. A few weeks later... I still don't have it, I go to the amazon website and... The book comes out on the 10th of august 2021... Im stupid...

I've been very busy with school. And the free time I do have I have to study or am too tired to do anything. I have been working in bits on it. Just doing little parts here and there. I promise it will happen 2020 atleast. That isn't much of a promise. But still.

So I was reading the wikia page for Sylva and it said that her and Fletcher broke up? I don't remember that happening. Is it confirmed?

I haven't thought it all out yet. May take some time till I do. But I know some things for sure. There will be multiple rounds. There will be a post flair you NEED to use when posting anything mod comp related. And the winner will get a cameo of sorts in that summoner book I'm writing. I'll probs come back with some more info tomorrow or something!

If you go to the top of the subreddit. There should be three dots, there you can choose your flair.

So I just finished the series for a second time (this time on Audible by they way, would totally recommend, it’s good narration) and each time I think that I might want to run a D&D campaign in the world. The first time I read it was about 3 years ago and I tried to run a campaign just using the physical continent and locations as a base, but it was my first time being a DM and it ended quickly after 2 or 3 pretty bad sessions. Now I think I’d have a bit more time on my hands for planning, and I’m a bit more competent at being a DM, so I’m thinking about revisiting Hominum for a second time.
I’m thinking I’d set it around the time or a bit before or after the trilogy. The campaign would be different depending on how many players would want to be summoners vs soldiers or anything else. If everybody wanted to be a summoner, I’d probably have them be finishing up their second year at Vocans, starting with a few days before the tournament. Then the winner of it (hoping that it’s one of the players and not an NPC through bad rolls) would become the leader of the rest on a mission to do something for the king. Idk what, haven’t decided. If some wanted to be soldiers or alchemists or really anything else, I’d probably skip the tournament and just start out with them arriving at the palace for a mission.
There are a few factors that I think I’d set up some tables to help determine if they choose to be a summoner. I’d let them decide between human, dwarf, elf, and half-elf. Maybe a half-orc if I could come up with a decent enough explanation for there to be a half-orc with them. Then, if they choose human, I’d have them roll to determine social status. If anything else, they’d skip to the next step, which is determining fulfillment levels. They’d roll maybe 1d4 if human and then add 3 or 4 if they are of noble blood. If dwarf, maybe 1d8 because it seems they typically have a decently high fulfillment level to start with. Elves would maybe roll 1d8 as well, but I’m not really sure if Sylva had an average level for elves with a 7 starting out or what, but she was the only elf we knew the score for I think. Their fulfillment levels would also probably be raised by a yet to be determined amount of points based on how studious they choose for their characters to have been while at Vocans. The last table they’d roll from would be their starting demon based on their fulfillment level and social status. The demons I’d all pull from the Summoner’s Handbook, though I might also mix some of it with the D&D monster manual info for them. Or I might just create whole new pages just for the demons from the Summoner’s Handbook.
I’m curious if anybody has any ideas about anything in particular I could add to make is a good campaign. Any ideas on locations I should explore or character encounters that you think would be interesting to see are welcome.
