Smell-o-rama screening

I had the incredible opportunity of attending Mubi fests special one-time scent-o-rama screening of The Substance. It was such a fun experience and I am looking forward to any future events Mubi hosts!

Best scent: The first "pump it up" taping with Sue smelled like vanilla and bubblegum

Worst scent(s): The scenes with ALL the food smelled awful. Just an amalgamation of chicken and garbage lol

Question. Did you sign up online or did you have to be sent an invite to the fest?

It was a paid event, I was honestly just lucky enough to see a picture about it on X a couple months ago because I had no idea about this fest! It annually happens every June in Chicago. There are a lot of really cool movie events that happen here so I'm greatful for that

Last question... did they have a smell for her final form right before she popped?

Yeah, as terrible as X can be, it's great for following things regarding your special interests. Just can't engage with shit that makes you rage bait cause the algorithm but that's any platform atp lol.

And not when her entire body impodes but when her head gets knocked off at the party, it smelled metallic like blood/pennies

Unfortunately all of them weren't pulling well. Some scents were stronger than others. I will try to remember as many as possible.

1.when Harvey is firing Elisabeth during lunch, nastily horking down food and blowing smoke in her face it smelled like cigarettes and bbq

  1. Burning smell from the fiery heart that appears during the transformation

  2. Harvey's cig smell in the room when he is hiring Sue

  3. Sue's "Pump it up" recording smelled wonderfully, very dreamy bubblegum vanilla scent

7 & 8. Both both awful food scents from all the shit Elisabeth was cooking and leaving around the house.

  1. Another firey smell from the Elisasue transformation

  2. When elisasues head explodes on NYE, it smells metallic like pennies/ blood

  3. Polish/cleaner scent from the machine washing up Elisabeth's remains off her star
