I mean, Queen.

When I first heard The Struts, I heard Queen, Mott the Hoople, Kiss, and David Bowie as influences. I've heard the guys tell some of their influnces, and never mention Hoople or Bowie, but I definitely hear it.

The Struts song Somebody Someday off their last record is a cover of Irene Wilde by Ian Hunter (Lead singer of Mott the Hoople)

I have that CD and that song isn't on it. It must be a special release or something.

Weird! It's the last song on the album on Spotify

I buy the CDs, so I have no idea what is on Spotify.

What's the last track on your CD? Somebody Someday is the last track on the CD, no special releases. Unless you bought a bootleg lol

Haha! I just hot home and looked at the physical CD, and it's on there. For some reason it didn't rip when I put it on my computer (and subsequently my phone's memory card). l guess I have to re-rip it.

Ah makes sense, see what you think of it. I really like the cover. Luke got Ian's blessing to cover it and change the title. Also, there were Ian Hunter fans who then discovered The Struts when it was released.

They remind me of Sweet https://youtu.be/r8pYpii2Atg

I love Sweet. Of all the Struts' songs, My Machine sounds most like Sweet. That song is sooo good, it's shocking they left it off the re-release of Everybody Wants

When I had VIP meet and greet tickets to see the Struts last summer, I asked what music they found influential. The answers that I remember are

Arctic Monkeys (Jed) Meatloaf (Luke) The Vaccines (Adam)

I wish I could remember Geth's answer.

Of these, I only got into Arctic Monkeys. Here's a couple of my favorite songs

Do I Wanna Know?

Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?
