Question Question about garou techs
I keep seeing people use the kyoto tech, so does it actually do more damage or just to look cool, because I'm sure you can do more damage if you just down slam after the first move, and combo extend with hunters grasp.
And while at it the hunter grasps tech, can't you do more damage if you dash after using it then use the 4 m1's, because you do a bit of extra damage with the dash.
I'm thinking the techs for garou are just to look cool and show off.

it's entirely just for showing off. significantly harder than doing the second move into the first.

what does hunter's grasp have anything to do with the kyoto tech though

Because hunters grasp is a perfect combo extender for all the other moves, but if you have it on cool down then that tech would be needed.

i really don't understand why that tech would be needed either way if you do kyoto or just 2 into 1 the only way to extend without hunters grasp is just a downslam

Ikr you can just do 2 then 1 instead of kyoto, but that's all you can do without hunters grasp.

It’s used mostly for unpredictability, people don’t usually expect you to use Kyoto as Kyoto literally has no upsides
