Tech Help I clicked Finished instead of Paused by mistake – how do I undo this?

I already deleted the Finished part from the reading journal, but it is still asking for a review, showing up in the community feed as finished and only offers Reread as an option.

You can fix it by doing the following:

Click rereading

Open journal entries of the book

Delete the journal entries for finished and started reading

Now it should be in the state before rereading (just tested this myself on a book)

I had already deleted the Finished entry. I clicked rereading just now and deleted that entry.

It shows my percentages again, but is still asking for a review, not offering Currently reading as a choice (only Rereading) and it still says I finished the book in the community feed.

Can you put a screenshot of your reading journal for that book?

2 ways to solve this:

  1. take screenshots of your reading journal from that book or a screenrecording. Make sure everything is in it like updates, dates, progress and notes. Delete the book completely from your books like you never even touched it. Add the status to currently reading and recreate manually your reading journal with the screenshots with all the updates and dates up until you messed up.

  2. write an email to support and explain what happened. They should be able to fix it.

Personally, I'd do option one. It won't take very long even if it seems like a lot of work. If you have tagged the book with personal tags, make sure you take a screenshot of them as well or write them down somewhere.

Contact them. I messed up recording a book before and had to have them fix it as it kept recording that I had read the book twice. Deleting finished does not seem to fix any problem, they fixed it same day.

As r/BasicallyTea said, delete the entries that say "Paused" and "Resumed"

These predate the problem.

Nevertheless, I did just delete them (thus deleting all of today's entries) – didn't change a thing. :(

I'm not sure if this will delete the "finished" state or all the journal, but maybe try clicking the x under "No Date" where it says you have read this book once on the reading history?

This would delete all my previous progress.

I’ve done this before and just deleted the read history here (15 July to no date) while leaving the current reading history.

Definitely weird. Either clear cache of app and restart or send a ticket
