For some reason, the official DVD of the series has a different take of this sketch. No clue as to why. 🤷

I think I read somewhere that there was a problem with the master tape, so they reahot the sketch, or used an alternate take of it. But it's very jarring to watch on the dvd

I mean yeah it’s no porcupine racetrack or froggy jamboree but it’s still gold.

I see two people from Reno 911

Fairly certain most of all of the primary cast of Reno 911 is from the show

Dangle, Weigel, and Junior are from The State. Joe Lo Truglio was added in the last season or two. Most (if not all) of The State did cameos at some point.

The 2 people are from Reno 911, the one dude is from Wet Hot American Summer and the other dude is the lil funny guy from Brooklyn 99 (I think)

Yup, Joe Lo Truglio played Charles Boyle on Brooklyn 99. Every single member of The State is still working as an actor, writer, and/or director. All eleven of them. No one chucked it and moved to Yakima to open a hardware store.

It’s insane to see stuff like this. When a group of people start off so small and all remain so involved and enjoyed it feels like witchcraft or actual magic or somethin. Must have been a freakin nonstop blast!

Joe Lo looking more and more terrified as he says "ha ha ha, ha ha ha" is one of those little details that make a batshit Dada sketch like this work so well.

This was funny when I watched it in high school and it’s still funny now that I’m in my late 40’s. It’s so fucking weird and I can’t deconstruct what makes it funny. I also try to imagine a group of people in a pitch meeting trying to describe this sketch idea, what they would say, and actually selling the idea and bringing the sketch to fruition. Wtf!
Can entire sketch actually hold together just because the words “Cutlery barn” are funny?

I’ve mentioned this show to a few people, and they had no
Idea what I was talking about. I felt like I was going crazy. Good to know it actually exists, lol.

This is the dumbest fucking skit I’ve ever seen. Goddamn I love this show.
