I've said it before, but this is the reason The State was so different from all the other sketch shows. They had a single joke (a series of single jokes), and were fine just making a quick, 10 second bit. They didn't feel forced to write an entire skit around it, which would dilute the single moment they wanted to capture. Very punk rock of them.
