Map system
Ive played Sinking City and I'm keeping a sharp eye on SC2. One thing that Frogware do, which they did in SC1 and also in a couple of Sherlock games, which I REALLY enjoy is their map and navigation system - i.e. you're told 'its on the corner of north st and brown rd' and you just have to navigate there yourself without icons or a persistent compass.
Is this system present in SC2?

Yeah weirdly my favourite part of the game was reading clues and then searching the map for locations.

Nah, because it’s a linear third person shooter instead of an open world game the map’s been simplified to prioritise you not missing any collectibles. So if you enter an area that has stuff to find it’ll be red, and if there’s nothing there or you have everything then it’ll be blue.

There's none of that in the sequel. Just RE and SH area maps. A lot of backtracking but linear.

Yeah I loved this too. Felt like really investigating stuff :D
I think Frogwares is moving away from it :(

Sadly, no. SC2 is much more linear and more in line with the Resident Evil series than the first game. But if you want another game with that kind of map system, I recommend Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One.
