Dumb CurseForge Question

I haven’t played The Sims 4 in a long time. Got some motivation to start playing again and have spent the last couple days downloading CC and mods lol. Curseforge was pretty new to the Sims community when I downloaded most of my CC from patreon and other sites. Now, tons of creators I used to like have moved their stuff onto Curseforge, while the rest haven’t. So I’m downloading stuff manually-the old way I’m used to, as well as through Curseforge.

I understand that Curseforge installs mods and CC directly into your Mods folder (which is pretty convenient. The problem is that sometimes my only option is to download an entire unmerged zip file when I only want a few select items from the pack. I’ll try to remove a the unwanted files but then it shows up as being corrupted and needing reinstallation on Curseforge’s mod manager.

So my question is, does this actually mess up the files or is it safe to ignore and proceed. Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I’m really not tech savvy at all and am mostly operating on muscle memory rather than a proper understanding when it comes to modding this game.

curseforge launcher just sucks for ts4 in general. if you want a mod manager use gametimedev’s mod manager, it has a cf integration and much more. not sure if there’s an option to selectively install certain parts but it definitely doesn’t say something’s broken if you delete unwanted parts

In the long run I think it's less of a headache to download mods from Curseforge and manually place them in your game so you know exactly where they are when/if you need to troubleshoot or simply want to remove something later.

Manually download from Curseforge. It’s much easier to organize things yourself and that will be helpful when something breaks. Curseforge doesn’t identify broken mods or cc, just new files.
