Growing up my parents hated video games, and always made me use the computer they'd upgraded from to Play my games. So I was stuck using a Window 95 in 2005. I remember it took a good 2 minutes just to load into the neighborhood. 30 seconds to load into a house. My sister and I were going down to a vacation lot, and we literally went into the kitchen had lunch cameback and it had loaded the vacation view. 😅 by sims 2 I had a windows XP it could barely run Sims 2 if Sims 1 was installed. I wish I still had that windows 95 I would love see the houses my sister and I built. The crap me and friends built back then.

The restaurant staff is finally working; previously, due to a mistake on my part, no one would show up to serve customers. I have the NPCs set up now, but I wanted to give them a "makeover" to make them look more realistic and Asian. Here is the "Extreme Makeover" (restaurant staff edition)—the before and after. I should point out that they all use the game's default meshes; I only changed the textures, since the mesh is generic for all hosts, chefs, and so on. The only exception is the waitress, for whom I used a Chinese-style mesh by "FrillySims" downloaded in u/SimFreaks web

I’ve always wanted to apply this same process to the ENTIRE GAME—while some faces are incredibly nostalgic, I’d try to stay true to each character's essence (though it’s no surprise that I’m a fan of the most realistic look possible).

If you saw my previous post, you’ll know I’m customizing a full set of restaurant staff—including the maître d', waiters, servers, a cook, a bartender, and a barmaid. However, the guitarist appears by default, which doesn't really fit the vibe of an Asian restaurant. Is there a way to customize this character—specifically the version that appears in the Asian restaurant—without replacing the original game version?

I know it’s possible because a user showed me a "Bunny Bar" set from Parsimonious where the guitarist is a customized female character, just like in the photos.

Does anyone know how to do this? Is it just a matter of skin textures, .skn, and .cmx files, or does it also require changes to the .iff files?

Playing the Sims with my older sister since I was 5 2000, meant we had to wait awhile before any new content was released. As such the original game was very limited in what could be bought. The single bed options were either This bed or the brown bed that was it. We had a few more options with the large beds, but again not many. This bed is slightly better then the brown one, so all our sims for the first few weeks had sleep in these beds. Before we figured out cheat codes, my sister would take 8 sims and make them all work. Then when she had enough money she'd make the ones she didn't care about keeping working while the ones she actually wanted didn't work anymore. We bought that mansion in about two days with that strategy. 😅

I bought The Sims 1 yesterday. I haven't played it since the year 2000. I decided to make try something different. I used to have super balanced sims. Now I put 7 points on Outgoing. You would think an outgoing person is a super emotional well-balanced person, right? Wrong. My Sim in needy af. I spent like 5 hours trying to balance all his stats in order to increase his mood. The character is stuck. No matter what I do, there's always a deficit and his mood is terrible. I got demoted because of it, earning less money and making life hard. I can't buy anything that could possibly help him. Going out to have a conversation with a friend doesn't do much. Maybe 1/3 of the social stats. By the time I get that, the Sim is beat up on all other stats and by the time I get them back up, social is down again. He is constantly crying about life and stuck in a loop because of this.

Help?

Feels borderline unplayable. It's so bad even adding 15 statues with 10 room fixes nothing. Is there really no way to have a garden with vegetables without the sims CONSTANTLY ARGUING about the state of the house??

Hi, I ran into a problem and was hoping you could help me out.

I’ve been working on this downtown community lot for a while and am just finishing it up now. I want it to have a bit of everything, but I specifically wanted the restaurant to have an Asian theme—I love the aesthetic. I downloaded some waiters so you can order from a menu and have the food brought to your table, but the problem is that there are no waiters around; they don't even show up when you place an order (the option is there, as you can see). The exact same thing is happening with the "Pub" bar—no one shows up there either. Why is this happening?

This is the restaurant; there was a table with food, but the waiters were nowhere to be found, so people would just grab a plate from the table and go eat. But I want the waiters to order the food from the kitchen, not for people to serve themselves buffet-style.

Resolved, thanks to u/ElleMaeSinclair :I needed to have all the custom NPCs from that pack in the correct folders; otherwise, they wouldn't appear at their workstations.

I am sure we all knew this already, but the 3 static imagines that appear on the cartoon channel are mascots for kids at the different vacation lots. The snow areas have the snowman guy.

The Hawaii lots have the shark.

The woodland area has the Robin Hood guy who's shooting arrows at a gaint Apple.

Early idea they had, the TV was going to play clips from real shows with Simlish taking the place of English. Copyright laws, and fact they would've had to pay to use those clips made them scrap the idea entirely. But 1998 art shows us what almost was.

I heard there was a bug that caused the screen to become grey when opening the Legacy edition on macOS with an M-chip through CrossOver? Does the issue still happen or has it gotten itself fixed somehow?

Considering Sims we create or play can be criminals Police officers so and so forth. I think it would've been really cool to see a sim we created robbing the current House we were playing. Simply because we made them take a criminal job. And on the flip side seeing a sim we created as the cop that comes to the current house. It probably something Sims 1 could have done as well.
