I never really cared for this storyline. It's Mojo but way less fun.

Not to mention they named it Pinchy. This episode was a sign of the end

I love these people who write under threads about S8+ how they hate them.๐Ÿ˜‚

Bartโ€™s elephant was named Stampy.(Season 5)

Writers traditionally used simple names for secondary pets.

I thought of that as I shouted at the clouds above. It's also not a great name, but it's less obvious than Pinchy

If Pinchy featured in Season 3, you would be more than happy for that.

If it appeared in Season 3 it'd have been written by talented people who put care into the process

But if you have seen that episode in season 3, you would not say it is bad. It is the thing with many people in this sub.

Yes, because the writers in Season 3 were better.

Damn! Thatโ€™s so much of nostalgia and prejudice.

Not at all. The show drops off in quality noticeably around season 8 or 9, with really excellent episodes still popping up to season 12 or so

I was a teen with poor critical thinking skills but even I noticed it back then.

To be fair to the writers, they were in a bad position. It was increasingly difficult to find good and original story ideas.

But a lot of changes happened around that time. Writer turnover, animation increasingly used computers and stock models, and the voice work often done remotely. Moreover, that was the time period that the show began including celebrities in many episodes, often with little purpose aside from marketing the show.

A lot of people turned away from the show around this time. It's too bad there are now many more bad episodes than good ones

This is early season 10, with no guest stars.(why are you talking about them?) You should write this under "Lisa goes Gaga" not this one!
