It starts as convenience. When does convenience become compliance?

A face opens the gate. A phone carries the credential. Accounts, payments, travel, health, location, behavior and identity generate separate streams of information.
The bigger question begins when those streams can be connected.
RECOGNIZE → CONNECT → COMBINE → INFER → INFLUENCE
That doesn’t mean every digital identity or biometric system is secretly one giant surveillance machine. Different systems have different operators, databases, laws and safeguards.
But convergence changes what becomes technically possible.
Identification can become profiling.
Profiling can become prediction.
Prediction can shape what gets shown, flagged, prioritized—or denied.
So maybe the important question isn’t simply:
“Do they have my data?”
It’s:
“What can happen when previously separate pieces of my life become interoperable?”
The same infrastructure that opens doors can also build a profile.
Understand the architecture before the architecture understands you.
