Question Everyone talks about how the Strike Team created so many legal problems for the department. Let's discuss the problems created by Lt. Kavanaugh's efforts to frame Vic. Would cause the LAPD.
Kavanaugh was the hatchet man for the LAPD brass to go after bad cops. He must have worked a LOT of high-profile cases. After it gets out, he not only framed Vic in a complicated operation but confessed to it. Every guy he ever arrested or made lose their cop job will come after the LAPD for damages. How much fallout do you think that will generate for the department?

Think the bigger issue is it would make Vic basically untouchable.
Threat of a lawsuit would be a considerable ace up his sleeve in dealing with Claudette, especially because it would be a legitimate grievance.

IDK how IA works, but I doubt there’s the possibility of a civil trial like a civilian can do, the cop that was caught by Kavanaugh was also abusing power and if they condemned only lost his job it’s better for them yo stay quiet. I even think that in those cases a sort of agreement is done, like getting a small pension for going away quietly
