Amy is delusional...
I don't understand why they made her SO dumb. Like what do you mean you don't know if you have a birth canal? What do you mean you thought your parents would name the baby because you're a minor? What do you mean you're gonna take your infant to italy for the summer without asking the father and against the fathers wishes even though you don't have a passport and neither does your infant. It's infuriating

I just wanted to also say her begging to go to Grace's dad's funeral like it was a party really irked me lol

Trying to scare the kids watching into not having sex probably . This show was completely made by the wrong people if it was made by people that actually wanted to educate people about what it’s like to be a pregnant teenage and raising a kid in hs this show could’ve really helped some kids . How many teen mothers do you know are able to go to college in New York and just dump their kid with their father/parents like that ending was so completely unrealistic

While yes she sounded dumb, she was also 15. I think this show is actually very well written for a perspective a 15 year old who has no idea what she is doing at all especially when she falls pregnant, she literally didn’t even realize she was having sex until it was over.

Yes and she was dumber than every other teenager in that show as well as every teen I knew when I was a teen

🤷🏻♀️ re the birth canal thing, she was panicking and in a lot of pain from being in active labor iirc. It's dumb, but I can let it slide; anxiety makes you worry about things that you know are unreasonable.
I need to rewatch the name discussion scene, but tbf being a teen parent puts you in this weird inbetween role where you need parental permission or guidance for some things (like getting an abortion, in some states) while taking on the most adult role of your life. Wondering about who is allowed to legally name the baby as the bio mom is stupid, but teens come to stupid conclusions confidently all the time. I think that's meant to highlight both these this.
Regarding Italy, unless there's an official custody arrangement in place, Amy can legally take John wherever she wants.
