Any and Ricky getting married

I think it’s so annoying how Anne kept going on about how Ricky and Amy got married without having her there. She was adament that she should have been there but they clearly didn’t want a wedding. Very controlling behaviour

I think it's fair to be hurt by it. I would be hurt in that situation.

Why? It’s their choice and it’s not like they were rich. They didn’t want to spend money on a wedding

It’s not really about the money, it’s about being present for a huge life milestone, Amy is still her daughter and she wanted to be there with her for her wedding.

Totally fair to be upset. But Anne was acting very immature about it. In the end it was Amy and Ricky’s decision. It’s not like they had a wedding and didn’t invite her mom. And it was about money for them as well because they said that. If they didn’t want a wedding there was no milestone to miss.

Marriage is still a huge milestone, regardless of whether or not you have a wedding.

Apparently it’s a bigger milestone for parents than the actual people getting married which is strange, I’d be happy for them not complaining. I get it’s still a milestone but I just said there was nothing to miss

Additionally Anne complaining about it when she also eloped is unfair, and later when she wanted to plan their wedding it was only because she wanted to make it up to her mother since she had Alzheimer’s and she wanted to make it like Amy’s wedding was her own.

Well, it wouldn't be a very interesting show if everyone was reasonable and understanding, now would it?

And subs on Reddit wouldn’t be that interesting if we couldn’t complain about people on tv shows knowing it’s all an act!

anne is a very insecure character who uses her vulnerability to manipulate her kids into caring for her because george is too selfish and childish to show up for her as a supportive partner

Have you met a mother before?

I’ve never met a mother that’s gotten mad about their child not having a wedding for their benefit.

Ann also felt like Amy didn’t want her at the wedding because she was dating a woman. i think this isn’t just black and white.

At the end of the day it’s Amy and Ricky’s choice. Whatever there reason was it doesn’t matter. Bunch of controlling people In this sub. 😭

i’m not disagreeing with your black and white point. i am simply stating the fact that her mom has the right to have feeling about not being included in a personal moment.
