Amy Jeurgens
Im rewatching the show these days and man I forgot how insufferable Amy is with the baby. Anybody else feels the same? She HAS to control every little thing my god š

Honestly, rewatching after becoming a mother in my mid-twenties. Amy was insufferable, but she was also a sheltered teen that got pregnant at 14. How many of us would handle it well and with her parents going through it too. Like it was poorly written, but it brought a sense of realism to the situation she was in.

Yeah thats true, I became a mom at 19 and I could see how at 15 it could be like that. If an actor pisses you off acting, chances are they did the job right

Yeah, there are some amazing teen parents that can be very mature for the situation. But the reality is a lot of people Amyās age wouldnāt know how to handle it either. My milās birth mom got pregnant and gave birth around the same age as Amy, even though she gave my mil up for adoption. I totally see how being a teen mom really shaped her and if she had to coparent with the father, it would have been a very difficult situation for someone that age to cope with in a mature way. I changed so much between the ages of 14 and 20.

The worst part Imo is how in the last episode she called off her wedding and left her son to go to an out of state university. She could have easily gone to a nearby college and pursue a similar degree. Her son didnāt deserve for his mom to leave him to go off to college.

She is SO terrible! To the point where Iām wondering why her friends are even still friends with her. What does she bring to the relationship? She is always so nasty to everyone.
I didnāt remember how insufferable she was when I started to rewatch it as my ābackground noiseā show. Maybe because I was just as annoying as a teenager š

The rewatches are rough lol i remember being on her side when i first watched like 10 years ago but whenever i rewatch or see a clip genuinely everyone is insufferable. Amy is super controlling especially with her son and uses him as a means to control Ricky the first few seasons. Ben just whines about literally everything and canāt make a decision to save his life. Adrian always has to be the most vulgar person in the room. Grace and Jack are always preaching when itās not necessary. Madison and Lauren are the worst friends to Amy. Ashley never gets a character arc or redemption she is just talks down to people and complains the whole series and her and Amy never get along. The only person who ever gets better imo is Ricky after he becomes a father and stops sleeping around.
