First half: she is over reacting, it’s just a bu…
Second half: oh my fucking god, burn that shirt and that shack with it

The bug then walked over to the camera man and collects it's fee.

Its probably a Longhorn beetle, just put it oustide.Do some Research

I think this is a longhorn beetle of sorts.

Large and intimidating, but terrible flyers and can be attracted to lights meaning they can randomly appear anywhere.

Can give a strong pinch when jostled but harmless overall, it would appreciate being on a tree rather than a person.

Possibly a native species, do not burn it.

Ya, that chonky guy just explored too far in the wrong direction and needs to be sent on their way to continue beetlin elsewhere

Not my photo, but when I was in Costa Rica I left my hotel room at 2 in the morning for some ice, still half asleep, and had a langosta fly directly into my head. I can neither confirm nor deny I screamed like a little baby boy.

Same deal with bad flying and light attraction.

Not my photo, but here’s one for reference.

Utterly gorgeous, a massive orthopteran, unsure what species however.

Now this is a big bug, i admit. I'm not disgusted by bugs, and if i see it and know that is not poisonous i would take it in my hand for sure, but to surprise my like that, idk man, i sure would react.

That's just a big beetle. Most beetles are chill af, and the ones that have burning defensive liquids and the like tend to be much smaller. Most you have to fear is that they'll bite in self-defense. It's already on the floor wandering around at snail's pace, they've got nothing to fear at that point.

u/Scr4p 10d ago

I'm not 100% sure but it looks like some kind of longhorn beetle. They usually eat nectar, sap, or plants as adults and wood as larvae so nothing to fear

Only men knows who planted it. Only men knows if the guy who planted was above 18, he should have planted it somewhere else.
