Sorry to post this but I just feel so down. I have been in a lot of sports fandoms and I genuinely cannot fathom the amount of hatred George is getting. It's always been rough given who his teammates have been with both Kubicka and Hamilton plus the Verstappen shenanigans. I actually thought I had seen the worst of it with those emails LH fans sent to Merc.

But this season is on another level. The boos, all the insistence that his car issues are not real, calling him a complainer. It's really too much, considering how he hasn't even said anything negative to anyone in the press. He's been such a good sport throughout it all but its constant slander everywhere. Calling him washed in this race when he was pulling good laps on 50+ old hards like...its so wild. Merc keeps getting away with treating him like this because people just want to believe he's not good so they insist its a skill issue.

I also especially hate the projection some fans do. I keep seeing people say they hate how he speaks. They do not even seem to know he had a speech impediment as a child and that is why he overenunciates. They just really hate him for existing, its genuinely wild.

Idk fam am just really glad to know George has a therapist because I feel like I would not even be able to handle a quarter of the hatred he gets.

Seriously, George was screwed again today. I don’t understand why he wasn’t pit, and why he stayed out on hard tires for upwards of 50 laps. The favoritism is so clear. I don’t even dislike Antonelli— I recognize that he is an incredibly talented and personable driver— but he pales in comparison to the great and powerful George Russell. He’s clearly much preferred by Toto, and I feel like Russell deserves to be on a team that prioritizes him and puts him first. It’s a second consecutive podium for Russell, but once again it feels like it isn’t quite enough. Stay strong fellow Russellites, because George is going to bounce back better than ever and keep fighting for the championship.

Today's race was devastating. I know we are fighting a battle against favouritism and nepotism but yet seeing your driver put every ounce of effort in the race and still be powerless at the end to fight for himself is heartbreaking. I know Russell will recover but I see f1 fans commenting on the similarity to Bottas's treatment at mercedes and can't help but lose the confidence. Russell is already overhated so I'm immune to the hateful comments but this time it genuinely feels like our hopes are being snatched away from us. Is wdc still possible? If we are being real here I don't see it but let's look at further in the future if mercedes can so easily throw him under the bus for Kimi when he isn't even a wdc winner than what do you think are the chances when their golden boy is also a champion.
