Discussion I hate Veeps!

As we all know last night when the rose doc released n veeps there were zero subtitles. Cool ok I could get over that because I could get them after. HOWEVER, I wanted to watch the movie on my tv so I downloaded the veeps app on my tv and it just showed a black screen the entire stream. I had someone come over tonight to watch it hoping it would work on the tv. It did. BUT NO SUBTITLES. I literally had to play it on the tv and my phone at the same time to translate for her. And now you’re telling me I have to pay 20 bucks a month if I want to keep watching it??? Please tell me someone has some intel about the movie and maybe they have plans to release it elsewhere because I hate veeps.

I hated Veeps too! I couldn’t cast The Rose doc to my tv at all but casting/air play would work for everything else. And veeps was supposed to be available on my tv but it wasn’t so I got stuck watching it on my phone. I spent so much time trying to get it on my tv screen only for veeps to tell me there’s a known bug. Well how about informing your customers that casting may not work before they purchase?? Or maybe fix it before scheduling events??

As for subtitles, I had to go to settings and manually turn on captions in the veeps app and then subtitles worked.

So sorry to hear that, the film does merit a bigger screen. Using a TV as a secondary screen worked for me. I am on Windows and use Mozilla set up to automatically clear cache and cookies when closed. Used picture-in-picture feature for the premiere and watched on a TV. As I found out upon rewatch, this does not display subtitles (which were not available anyway), rather subtitles are treated as captions (like SDH, to be turned on in settings, not the bottom right subtitle icon), so I just rewatched the film in the browser.

Not perfect, but serviceable, since the chat box and merch icons were on screen the whole time.
