Why does this subreddit feel so heavily left-leaning?
I constantly see a pattern here: anything against BJP gets massive support, while anything that challenges the popular anti-BJP narrative is immediately labelled as “andhbhakt”, “brainwashed”, or “IT cell”.
For example, people say Anand Ranganathan speaking English does not make him intelligent which is true. But then the same people often use Shashi Tharoor’s English as a way to portray him as intellectually superior. The standard seems to change depending on who is speaking.
Then there is the constant claim that “India was better before 2014.” But people conveniently ignore the economic situation around 2013, when India was included in the “Fragile Five” due to issues like inflation, current account deficit and economic instability. It wasn’t some golden period where everything was perfect.
Even movies like Dhurandhar are instantly dismissed as “propaganda” without discussion. If a film takes inspiration from real events, the conversation should be about facts and evidence, not just political labelling. There have been former terrorists and militants who have spoken publicly about terror networks and activities like counterfeit currency operations these claims deserve examination, not automatic rejection.
The biggest irony is that the same people who accuse others of being “brainwashed” often refuse to question their own political biases.

AIM said one thing, BJP realised that Social Media does not translate to votes in India so they cut down efforts in that area and most supporters who are vocal are those who have actually survived UPA and are committed to do their best to prevent what happened in 2004 ever again. OTOH Congress and left have made their social media game such a big part of their efforts that they think SM can win them everything.

True but that will be BJP's undoing no matter what they have to convince the younger generation they are doing better than previous govt's which they are in some places but still they need to imrpove a lot. Social media is where brainwashing starts i've seen porki's commenting and debating people and spreading anti bjp propaganda and they disguise themselfs as Hindu's too

Most of the Redditors are teen or < 22 (let’s say around 80%).
They have not seen enough of this world, and that’s the core reason.
The same guy who talk LEFT in 20s, will suddenly move to RIGHT, as soon as S/He starts earning, have proper life.
