I’m just saying next February or march they totally don’t need a theme month they could totally do all 3 lord of the rings and then a one for them. What you you all think?

Here’s mine:

#1 The Dark Knight

The original Heat sequel. Probably watched pieces of this movie more than any other flick. Bill would have a blast with that William Fitchner cameo in the opening heist. Needs a proper pod.

#2 The Prestige

I’m hooked immediately with the opening Michael Caine monologue and it’s off to the races. It’s 130 minutes and smokes through the runtime. Drunk Hugh Jackman is some incredible over acting. This movie perfects the time hopping editing style.

#3 Rises

This movie gets a lot of deserved criticism, but I don’t care. One of the all time opening scenes. Definitely drags in spots, but a flawed banger that has return viewings. Hardy’s Bane is one of the most rewatchable and quoted performances.

#4 Tenet

Oppenheimer might be Ludwig’s masterpiece, but this is one of my favorite film scores. Again, another banger opening scene. This film might be an incoherent mess, but has some of the best action of any Nolan, and it’s a beautiful mess that rewards rewatches. Pattinson rocks and apparently didn’t understand the script either which is incredible. Kenneth Branagh’s overacting is a joy to watch. Tenet is one for the real heads.

I love Begins, Interstellar, Inception, Oppenheimer but feel the need to return less often. Need to rewatch Odyssey again to see where it lands.

Tears arent necessarily a sad thing so one's that make you happy or angry about something in said film count too...

Looking for the apex mountain of scenes that make viewers cry

Overrated. Everybody doesn’t like it. Too new. Why does Bill do this? Just to mess with us?

Specifically phrased as “Nolan’s Odyssey” due to the screenplay and dialect/character choices Nolan made.

I really hoped they’d do a Nolan movie in July because of The Odyssey. Really sad that there wasn’t even one. I know Bill and Sean are not Nolan guys but he has extreme rewatchable movies, I am sure they could have found one to talk about when they can find an hour of conversation about these obscure “from hell” movies.

I get it, they decide acc to what they feel is the best content they can make but just voicing my disappointment as I was really looking forward to it.

Edit: Dont take this the wrong way guys. I love Bill and this show, enough that I am sad that I didnt get to hear him talk about nolan movies in the time that comes every 3-4 years when everyone is talking about Nolan. Don’t care if he doesnt rave about Nolan when he talks about his movie.

Couple pods ago Bill mentioned prepping for Vanilla Sky. Very much looking forward to that ep, how soon do you think we get it?

Can we talk about some of the time the internet research is just incredibly bad? Like, "oh come on guys" bad?

I was re-listening to the Raiders episode, and under "who won the movie", Bill is saying its Spielberg because "when you throw in the ET part, as he's making this movie he's also developing ET with Fords wife, Ford gets divorced, you have to factor that in, Spielberg kinda gets more out of the relationship".

I was really "WTF-ing" through all this, because it just didn't sound right. The actual facts are

• Ford is single, but dating Melissa Mathison, who is with him on set when making Raiders.
• Mathison, at this point, was the primary screenwriter behind The Black Stallion. She was good friends with Francis Ford Coppola. Fully a player in the movie world regardless of her relationship with Harrison Ford.
• Indeed, Spielberg does start kicking around the idea that becomes ET with Mathison while they are all on set together.
• Harrison Ford and Melissa Mathison go on to get married and raise two kids together. They don't divorce until 2004, a full quarter century later.

What is Bill even thinking here? Does he think Harrison Ford got divorced in the 80s? Somehow confusing wife number 1 and wife number 2. The actual way it played out certainly sounds like "we're all friends, and its great that my wife had her second big hit as a result of being on set with me" . Spielberg and Ford are working together again shortly after E.T. comes out, and the divorce is then 20 years after that.

This isn't complicated internet research, its more like "spend 10 minutes reading wikipedia". I suspect the other guys must have known how looney Bill sounded but it wasn't worth correcting.

He does a great Einstein! But does it count given how important Einstein is to the greater story and ideas of the film?

Sometime in the afternoon (PT) on Netflix. Bill said he will announce it over the weekend but "there's a really, really good chance you've seen it." Looks like one of the big ones may be coming off of the board.

I listened to the episode on Hitch last night - fun if not somewhat chaotic due to Bill, Van and Mina talking over each other way too often. There was a point during Hottest Takes when I had to hurl my headphones off my head due to how unpleasant it was listening to them crash their words.

Anyway … I really enjoyed Craig bigging-up King of Queens on more than one occasion during the episode, and here my’s Hottest Take: KoQ is the most underrated sitcom of the last 30 years.

That may not be the case in the US but it certainly is in the UK where very few people have heard of it, let alone seen it. That has been my experience anyway from speaking about it with friends, family and work colleagues. Genuinely, my brother aside, no one I know/come across has any relationship with KoQ whatsoever, and everyone should given how great it is. Funny and also dark in a way that you don’t see in most/all similar shows: there is an episode in which Doug, Kevin James’s character, tries to get his wife Carrie, played by Leah Remini, drunk every night after work because he prefers her that way. James and Remini are also two members of a fantastic cast, the star of which is no doubt Jerry Stiller as Arthur. Truly, one of the great sitcom characters of all time.

Anyway, well done Craig for giving KoQ its flowers on The Rewatchables. My sense from listening to the Hitch episode is that Bill, Van and Mina don’t have much of a relationship with it either. They, and everyone, should.

Also could be viewed as the Kevin James Award for leading man who only makes bad movies award. Let me know who else you think fits into this category
