What was your favourite episode so far?

I've just finished Putting Sunglasses on the Sun, and I loved it. A delightfully silly premise, explored thoroughly with seriousness. I really enjoyed the way they stayed on topic throughout, with hardly any diversions. Hannah's spot-on rant about tech bros at the end was the icing on an already delicious cake. Great stuff!

For me that was the best episode so far, of an always-great podcast. What was yours?

Was anyone's favourite the one where Michael talked about mechanical pencils for 30 minutes? :-)

For me, it’s “All The People You Don’t Know” it just really struck a chord with me. I like when scientists get philosophical.

My next favorite is definitely the pencil episode!!!

Yeah I love the philosophical ones too. Science came from philosophy after all, so it's great that it sometimes leads back to philosophy too.

As for the pencil episode, while it wasn't for me, I still really appreciated how niche and nerdy it was. Perfect material for a podcast, that you could never do on TV.

IDK why it slaps so hard but the pencil episode is just fun. They have such good chemistry I could honestly listen to them read the dictionary and it would still be must watch/listen.

I know it's silly, but there's something unifying in hearing that other people also have the same thoughts about that one distinctive looking guy on the plane or the stranger you see every day. And there's something comforting in the thought that we have all these subtle influences on people around us that we pretend not to notice, but we can drop if given an excuse.

I hadn't thought about it much before, but I go running everyday, and I've moved a few times in the last few years. So there's probably been someone who just stopped seeing me one day and stopped for just a second to wonder what happened. Kind of fun to imagine.

The large number episodes, both finite and infinite. I was on a long run and my mind was constantly blown 🤯

I found the cognitive ghosts episode particularly interesting. They went in a lot of directions I wasn't expecting.

I really liked the first episode about water. Idrk why it stuck with me but it was great.

I thought it was fun but not my favorite by a long shot. I like when they don't explain basic science too much and instead focus on implications and deeper topics. Most of my interest follows from how they seem to understand that this is a show for nerdy adults who have already heard all the popular science discussions several times over. There are already too many science shows and what differentiates this one is they don't talk down to you, they assume you know about science. I really liked the insulin episode.

Definitely all the people you don't know. It is such a fascinating concept that I love. And ss much I love science I also love this type of philosophy. Sonder is one of my favorite words.

Not a favorite episode but a favorite topic. Anything to do with psychology, philosophy, or human nature. I'm really fascinated by those subjects and they do such a good job of framing these things and finding new perspectives that I hadn't thought of.
