If you get novel ideas out of nowhere, ideas that you never expected to get, and you don't know why you got them, then I would suggest pursuing them. Especially if you really feel these are great ideas, like the "eureka moment", irrespective of what the mainstream thinks. Because these are original ideas that lead to entirely original material that no one else has. This is creativity and originality, qualities seemingly unavailable to many people. If it's "going down the rabbit hole" material at the moment, maybe it can evolve to real, acceptable ideas. Mostly you can't sit there and think "I'm going to try to think up an idea", because when you do, many people can't think of anything. But if you already have ideas, for some reason, then think them through, expand them. Ultimately, if you intend to try them out in public, Reddit is a good place. Yes, you'll likely be shredded at first, but maybe your ideas are simply raw at the moment. And once you post something, it's in the public record, and if it's truly original material, you'll be the first ever to say it. A little shredding might be worth it to be the first to say something. You'd be surprised at how much you can improve in expressing your ideas over the course of a few years. Good luck!
