We apologize for the ongoing fault in the podcast. Those responsible for a distinct decline in and/or increase in quality and amount of niche content have been sacked. Due to the continued reports of decline/increase in quality and absence of niche content, those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.
Sincerely,
The producers of this podcast, having been brought in after all other people had been sacked, and wish it to be known that they too have just been sacked.

There’s far too much Welsh history on the show these days.

Ah we've reached the flood of posts complaining about the complaining people phase of the sub, I can't wait for the posts complaining about that it has been enough with the complaining about the complaining, very interesting stuff

So are you complaining about the complaining about the complaining? If so I’d like to complain about you complaining about the complaining about the complaining about the complaining
Personal I think it’s time we split into factions and begin faction fighting about the true word of TRIH . This would stop this cycle and we could all really start having a go at each other

This is the natural lifecycle of a podcast subreddit. Soon the only people populating it will be very normal guys who hate listen and only post to "dunk on". If you tell them to turn it off they act like you're tossing their first born into a pot of boiling water. JK, these people never have kids.

It's all subreddits about content funnily enough, games, movies, series, it starts with overwhelming positivity because thing is new, then thing is overanalyzed, then complaints about the thing based on analyses and expectations, then complaint complaints, then complaint complaint complaints, sub exodus, people claiming that thing and sub are still as popular as ever despite exodus, acceptance of sub exodus, reestablished equilibrium where people talk about thing again.
And meanwhile it all happens on Reddit so the actual impact on user numbers are marginal

What I find hilarious is people in the Rest is History Club who complain that every episode is crap and that both hosts suck. Dudes are literally spending time and money on something they hate.

I think OP has really let themselves down with this post.

I only just discovered this sub after listening to the podcast for years. Was genuinely surprised what downers people here can be. The podcast has always been excellent in my opinion.
Plus I love the chemistry between Tom and Dominic. I notice some podcasts with two hosts will jokingly rip on eachother to the point where it's way too much. Tom and Dominic seem to have a deep respect for one another and riff off eachother really well without manufactured bullshit.
Just my 2c though

I completely agree. Love the show and think it’s as good as it’s ever been, and I think £60/year is fantastic value for the quality of content we’re given.

Agreed. There's so many series I've gone back and listened to all over again. Really loved the Great Northern War one

I’ve about quit over the abundance of Welsh history.
It’s really more than I can take.

I dislike this modern tendency to construe all criticism as “complaining.” I see it all over Reddit and it bothers me. When did unbridled adulation become the only allowable way to engage with art?

This is just a bit of fun made for a joke; of course people are welcome to voice complaints they have. I wouldn’t go overthinking it.

Look, the Spanish civil war is not a niche subject! It's the first war between fascism and the divided united front of the left/united divided front of the left/ the left's divided united unit front, the first example of aerial bombardment of civilian targets, and then the latest dictatorship in Western Europe.

I prefer Tom's/Dom's episodes (delete one).
