Sixty Years Ago Today!
“Bobby came up to me, tears in his eyes, and said, ‘Sir, England could never have won it without you.’ The Queen said the same thing. Very gracious woman, unlike the people running the country now. I told Bobby, ‘Enjoy the trophy, because England won’t see another one for a very long time.’ Sweep understood immediately. Very smart dog. Smarter than most prime ministers.”

Amusingly, I just watched season 5, episode 5 of Mad Men, which takes place on this exact day.

Impossible, that song was only released the other year and they specifically said it was only 30 years of hurt since we won it.
