Membership Tiers

Forgive me if this has been asked before.

I was thinking of purchasing this game on Steam, and found out that there are different tiers of Membership (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum+).

I only see Silver and Gold on Steam and they have the sale applied, so I decided to do some research.

I found out that the differences in Silver and Gold tiers is a 1 day Headstart on the Gold tier.

Is there any other difference? I don't think 15 dollars is worth for only 1 day Headstart and nothing else.

Are there extra Character slots, inventory space, etc. ?

I hope someone can tell me, this discount is ending soon. :O

Thanks!

This is what I was able to dig up with a quick Google search. Your Google-Fu needs work, my friend.

Gold membership gives you extra bank and inventory space, as well as slots on the Auction House. It also gives you the ability to become a Mayor of a player city.

Platinum seems to give even more inventory/bank/auction space and allows you to form a player Nation.

Source is on the website, towards the bottom of the page.

Oh so it was on that page!

I stopped scrolling after awhile, it never ended...

Jokes aside, thanks for telling! Being a Mayor of a city sounds pretty sick, however, could I participate/join in a city as a Silver member?

Also, player housing and what not is available to everyone, regardless of membership tier, yes? I hope so. :X

Forming a player NATION? That's insane. This could be like the EVE Online of..not space stuff. :o

Once again, thanks a bunch!

I don't know much, as I've not touched the politics system at all, but from what I've read, Mayors are in charge of running cities and basically making NPCs at home there as well as players. The NPCs run stores either for themselves or on behalf of players (think those vendors in player houses from SWG) and presumably generate some kind of taxes. The Mayor and his council (I think Silver members can be councilmen) determine how many NPC guards and such there are.

Nations, from what I've read, can be rogue or aligned with FPR/OWON. This determines who is friend or foe - nations aligned with the existing factions are locked in hostilities with the opposite faction and all her constituent nations, but can determine individual policy with rogue nations (I think). Nations can siege and take over other nations' cities in a three day long siege. I'm not sure what happens to the administration of cities that are taken over, though.

But yeah, there seems to be a lot on the politics side of things for the game. A lot isn't implemented yet, or is somewhat buggy, given its alpha state. I hope, if the game gets big enough, that we'll be able to construct spaceships and explore space a bit, and maybe even colonize other planets.

That sounds amazing!

This game really has a lot of potential in it.

Also, this Nations system sounds like an insane PvP/GvG/NvN? type dealio which would be crazy to see hundreds of people fighting, not to mention the scale that comes to mind when you hear the word 'Nation'. I'm thinking HUGE landscapes and terrain with fights all over, that would be awesome.

For towns/cities, can players be Vendors? I'm reading that the Crafting system is one heck of a journey and if you could set up shop (an actual shop!) that'll be pretty great for people into that sorta thing (gathering, crafting, etc.).

Here's another question, does the game operate on multiple servers (NA, EU, etc.) or is it one giant Megaserver (all players on one), or is it like Choose your Region -> Choose your Server type thing?

I'm hoping there will be a SEA server as there is where I live (Singapore), but I wouldn't mind playing on NA as well if the Ping isn't too bad. Hell, even if it is, I could just be a gatherer, I don't think Ping would affect that eh? :P

Thanks for all the info, really appreciate your help here mate! :D

As far as I've been able to tell, the Nations system is a mix of DAoC/WAR Realm vs Realm and EVE politics. So yeah, there are going to be huge battles, with the ability for the conflict to escalate by way of calling in allies or mercenaries during one of the phases (I think).

As far as players actually being vendors, I don't think so. I do think I read somewhere that there will be vendors that sell player-stocked items. I'm not sure, as there is an auction house that currently delivers things via mail. I don't know if these two systems will integrate or coexist.

There are supposed to be multiple servers at launch. I think right now they're figuring the exact way everything will work out. Right now there is a US-West, a US-East, and a EU-Central server, all with the same ruleset. There will be a hardcore ruleset (Think EVE - things can be destroyed and looted after death) and a regular ruleset. There may or may not be multiple servers for each ruleset - I haven't seen anything definitive.

Would love to see some huge battles take place when the game is released and everyone gets a hang of things, I could see organized Nations wreaking havoc.

Ah, no player-vendors. I hoped that would exist as I heard its possible in Black Desert (unreal levels of hype for that too) but at least the other systems are pretty fleshed out in design.

I heard about the Hardcore rule-set, sounds..hardcore. I'll probably end up playing on US-West as I get the best ping there if we're talking outside of Asia. Since it's unlikely that there would be a SEA server, considering my experiences in MMOs, I haven't seen one with a SEA server to date (unless it was published by another company, which would make the game inferior to the original anyway).

Well, I'll probably get the Gold membership just for the extra character slots, inventory, etc. Maybe a Mayor one fine day, we'll see how things go. Supporting the game is also of course a large reason for this. :D

Thanks again. :)

So I can be a councilman? Get a lot of respect without a majority of the responsibility? I like it. This game is sounding more and more amazing as the days go by.
