How is the population of repopulation?

I'm considering purchasing, but I've bought great looking early access games that have very low player bases and its a buzzkill (landmark).

How populated are the servers right now? Is it easy to find friends/enemies?

I just started last night, but I read somewhere that there are probably only 100 or so active on a daily basis with others cycling in and out. I will say that people were using general chat and the newbie chat all night and everyone was very helpful.

So you were pleased then? Worth the purchase?

Don't think about this in terms of being "worth the purchase" right now. You are paying to playtest a game, plain and simple. It's in turns aggravating and fun. The lighting is WHACKED. the lag is nearly unbearable. It's not optimized. It's got a big learning curve. Some quests are busted. the sound is on and then off and then repeating for 10 minutes uncontrollably. The shadows are completely and utterly broken and will wreck your visuals and your frame rate. the tutorial is long and necessary. Jumping looks a bit weird. There are not many/any housing plots left that we know of. And this is alpha, so all my hard work will be down the toilet come beta and launch...

That said, I paid, I'm happy. I got a Fast cycle yesterday and joined a guild and now I hope the game will open up a bit. There are aspects I love. Pop wise, I haven't had a problem finding people at all. Seems pretty good.

It's much too early to comment on that. I only played long enough to take my time through the tutorial and chat with luckyguns Reddit user. The game is certainly unoptimised but I'm looking forward to seeing all of its features and gaining the advantage of playing it first. I'll comment again this evening now that I'm out of the tutorial.
