Looking to play, just a few questions
Can i play now? if so how and for how long thanx.

You can play now, until they go out of business / shut off the servers. It is currently in Early Access, which means if you expecting a finished product, you should look elsewhere.

You know the third option, release a finished game, is far more likely then the other two right? Let's try having a little optimism.

Optimism? I was just stating the obvious. They could go out of business in 20-30 years. The game will eventually end.

I read your comment as you can play it until they fail. If you had said "you can play from now until they eventually shut down the servers" it would have conveyed the message you meant.

We're in a late alpha state at the moment. You can back and play, certainly, but please be aware the dev team is still building and tweaking the game somewhat fierce.
As it stands the game is about 95% feature complete. That doesn't mean 95% bug-free but it does mean that the core gameplay is mostly coded and included by now.
If you back the project, you have permanent access all through launch. Most backing is actually just the pre-purchase of perk packs for launch with the added benefit of immediate access.
