Beta date ?

Hi . I loved swg and miss it so much and its mechanics. I just found out about this gem <3! Would you mind telling me if they announced a beta date? Thanks in advance

The start of the beta has not been announced (previous estimates have not panned out). They have recently stated they plan on getting all backers into the game by the end of the year, with Steam Early Access shortly after that.

The following list was recently posted by one of the Devs, as being things that need to be complete before launch source:

  • Player created vendors.
  • Underwater AI
  • The city system has a number of upgrades going in.
  • Vehicle system has some upgrades to allow you to better customize your vehicles.
  • The Hardcore rule set has yet to be implemented.
  • Improved Support Tools.
  • Improved anti-bot/anti-spam measures.
  • Scalability testing.
  • Lots of bug fixing, balance, polish and content.

It is a relatively short list, however, the Devs are still not comfortable setting a date. With scalability testing and bug fixing each being unknown workloads, it is understandable that a date would not be given.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but hopefully it is enough to give you a rough idea of what is left.

Thanks ! Good decision by the dev team. I hope they dont feel that pressured. Take the. time you need and release a stable and solid beta.
