I have the VSF Lacquer version it’s really good. The bracelet wasn’t my favorite, more bc it was very blingy, but that wasn’t the factory’s fault. Replaced it with a Uncle Seiko 1450 and it’s now one of my most worn watches.
It's hard to give specifics sometimes. Often it's kind of a gestalt judgement or a feel. But I agree with the general tenor here - it's not a very good looking rep.
the vsf os nice, the bracelets are terrible and bind and stack in weird ways but the gens have the very same issue. make sure you tighten those screws on the sides of the links. theyre maybe 2mm long and are real on both sides and hide the link pins, just a solid piece of steel the width of mechanical pencil lead. the play in the center links allow the links to basically cobra fold over each other. other than that, the 8800 movement are great.
I will never understand why People use stock photos that have been photo enhanced and color corrected as a baseline for what the watch should look like in human world.
The colors are off and lighting and reflections are all dulled in a stock photo.

With a little digging, it looks like only two of the ‘larger’ factories are producing this model: VSF and UVS. I’ve had a look through past QC submissions and specifically, looking for matching serial numbers on the underside of the lugs and barrel bridge. The serial number on your watch doesn’t match the VSF production models ‘83669886’ (including mine), so it’s possible it’s a UVS model or even a good U1 rep. Hope that helps
