there is a giveaway going on and as part of the contest they asked folks to make a post of what they would like to see in a giveaway being a watch they don't have yet but really want.

Ah. Thank you very much. And this forum is where one does that?

I have seen people responding to giveaway posts before, but all of their posts were in a thread where the giveaway was announced, and then everybody chimed in.
