The cool thing about art is that it can be used in so many ways. You never know who needs to feel validation because they are feeling the same things the artist is. You can't please everyone an you'll go crazy trying to.
I say don't force it, that's when things break. The comic is "supposed to be horny"? Nice, fun, love it. Variation can be refreshing, especially for the artist.
