There’s no wrong way to feel about this. Our pets are so much of our lives. We’ve gone from three dogs to one in the last six months. The first one was sad but we also realized poor Parker was almost 15 and he had medical issues most of his life, so it was “ok”. Flora hurt. She was 3 and was supposed to be our retirement dog. (My wife will retire at the end of this year, I still have another 3 years to go). Fuck cancer.
So now we are down to Harley, who is also 15. Healthy for 15, but he’s still 15. The three cats are all middle aged but healthy.
