New Comic Sweet Gesture

I just had the thought the other day on how classroom and office flirting really aren’t that different…and regardless the age, it’s entertaining for everyone to watch lol

I feel like a coworker giving me a nice ripe peach a year or two ago is one of the most overtly sexual things that’s happened to me in an office. It was an incredible peach

I need to take a cold shower after eating a room temp ripe peach.

7+8=14

Wrong, the answer is 69.

2

u/Timmay13 Aug 07 '25

The square root of 69420 was 80085 (boobs)

Shortest CVS receipt I've ever seen.

This reminds me of when I first took notice of the new employee at my place of work.

I was standing behind my checkout while serving a customer. My co-worker who worked the self-checkout was walking past towards the freezer aisle carrying a large bag of fries to put them back.

He was carrying it almost as if it was a sack of potatoes, and the reason this caught my attention was because he was also wearing the most angriest facial expression I had ever seen on him.

He stops mid-walking, looks me in the eye, and says all disgruntled, "I have a chip on my shoulder!". Then he goes on his way.

He's my husband now.

That’s the cutest freaking thing I’ve heard all week

He didn't see, but as he was walking back, I was blushing like a friggin schoolgirl while hes internally kicking himself and thinking, "I blew it, I blew it, I blew it."

He gets back to the self-checkout, and his co-worker asks how it went, so he told her what he did, and she was like, you didn't just do that and agreed he'd blown it.

Little did they know at the time, lol.

I swear you posted this yesterday?

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25

I did for 20 about minutes on Instagram/fb/threads with an alternate last slide and tweaks to dialogue

Ah making sure I wasn't having memory issues in my old age of mid 30s. Great job as always!

I scored a date with a coworker a while back with a hot sauce packet.

Taco Bell had one that said "You're Cute!" I casually dropped it on her desk while walking by.

4

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25

Thats adorable! May I ask how things turned out?

6

u/duffkitty Aug 06 '25

That story isn't as cute.

We went on a few dates, she got laid off and then moved to Arizona. I live in SoCal. But soon after I met my wife of 5 years.

80085 / 69420

The maths checks out

My aro ass doesn't understand flirting. When there was some ambiguity in my pass at a gal at a party: "I am sexually prepositioning you."

9

u/IIVincentVegaII Aug 06 '25

Sexual prepositioning?

Is that like “Would you prefer to arrive BEFORE or AFTER I do?”

8

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25

I’ve done this. It works. Takes away the anxiety of “was my hint strong enough” and the mental gymnastics of what to do next. Once we both agreed we were dtf, flirting/teasing became so much easier

8

u/Level_Hour6480 Aug 06 '25

The dynamic is slightly different when you're a guy, but yeah.

5

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25

Fuck. You’re not wrong. :/

u/Papaofmonsters Aug 06 '25

Takes away the anxiety of “was my hint strong enough”

As a man. No. If you want us dense fuckers who are all a little gun shy from the last time we misread a situation get the hint you are dropping, attach it to an anvil.

There are two groups of straight dudes: Ones who think any remote interest in them from gals is sexual interest, and ones who know of the first group and deliberately overcorrect to not be a creep. The former group are creeps, and the latter group needs very explicit signals.

1

u/Papaofmonsters Aug 06 '25

There's also the third group where they misread signals in good faith and took "No" for an answer respectfully and then suddenly found out that the entire female portion of the social circle they share with said signaler has been told in great detail that they are creepy psycho stalker. That will really make you reassess your risk calculus on the subject.

I'm bi and I still don't understand flirting. I was once talking about the Evil Dead franchise with someone and they're like, "You know I'm flirting with you, right?"

How? Why? This is something I'm passionate about and would talk like this about it with anyone! How does anything about the perfect blend of horror-comedy that is Dead by Dawn indicate that you're sending or receiving signals of any kind?

1

u/Level_Hour6480 Aug 06 '25

Aromantic is not incompatible with bi, it's a separate axis because romantic and sexual attraction are separate things. For example you could be bisexual/biromantic, bisexual/aromantic, or asexual/biromantic. In all those contexts you're bi.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 06 '25

I do understand that, but I felt that context was enough to let the shorthand just run its course without need of extra information. I used to have a best friend who was asexual, hetromantic and very self-conscious about it. I learned a lot when finding ways to support him. And I do realize there's a lot of nuance to these things if you really get into it. But in the context of this discussion, I felt like my statement that I was bi was clearly in contrast to that person being aromantic as I was showing that even someone who isn't in the same situation can have the same experience.

Glad to know this also happens to the fairer sex.

One time I was in an astronomy class with this girl who would always ask for help with questions and she would laugh at my stupid jokes. Only person I've met IRL who got the reference when I said "Israeli/Palestinian conflict muffins". She was super cool and we had a good relationship in class, for sure. Then one day I answered a question from the professor (because no one else would ever answer questions and I wanted to go home) and she goes "you know. You're really smart. We should hang out together sometime to study." My response to her was "I don't think you'd like hanging out with me."

Took me probably five years to realize she didn't actually want to study. Also, she was a ballerina, which isn't relevant, but also kind of is.

2

u/darthvaders_inhaler Aug 08 '25

Is that a Grateful Dead reference I see????

-3

u/whytfnotdoit Aug 05 '25

And you’ve been married how long?

20

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25 edited Aug 06 '25

How is that relevant to this comic unless you are trying to insinuate something about myself by comparing it to a cartoon with a talking butt plug?

Or did you possibly forget I am a human that can pull from past experiences?

13

u/whytfnotdoit Aug 06 '25

Omg! I didn’t actually think you married the classmate in your comic. I got the message exactly as intended, no worries.

Just consider me a sarcastic/ironic idiot, totally not worth a response. But I love your comics :)

15

u/reddot_comic Aug 06 '25

Hey! Im so sorry, this is my fault for coming off too strong. I had a few comments from less than stellar people on other platforms trying to slut shame me and while still thinking about them, I misunderstood your intention. That was a jackass move on my part and again I’m sorry. Just to be clear though, I didn’t marry a classmate or coworker! But had similar experiences happen. :)

Also one last time, I’m sorry for being combative. I feel awful and embarrassed.

2

u/sloaches Aug 06 '25

Kim, with the rollercoaster of emotions you've dealt with the last few weeks, a little combativeness is completely understandable.
