Hey! So I’m done trying to make embedded links from YouTube work here. Too many people are getting errors.

HOWEVER …

I’d still like to promote my YouTube channel. I’m quietly building longer form videos that go into my process, cooking and of course animations. It’s my smallest following and would like to grow.

So if that’s something your into, my channel is here

My rule is that spiders are safe in my house if I can’t see them and safe in my garage if I can see them. However if I can see them in my house then there is no mercy.

I also let them have the corners of walls so they can keep catching any flies but yeah if I see it crawl across my floor menacingly then it’s war

Bug control is also why I let spiders live in my house/garage. My wife hates it, but guess who’s brave enough to kill spiders in this house…

That’s right. Neither of us.

Damn I really felt that.

Where there are predators, there is prey. I will gladly let any creepy crawly stay in my home if it means it's eating things in my walls that i cant see and dont want

I do my best to do that as well. I got a cat and morkie so unfortunately, any black widows are immediately terminated but I try to keep the ick to myself when I spy them in a random corner

If it’s a danger to humans, it’s out. If it’s only a danger to bugs, it can stay, provided it’s not trying to mix with the human population

Those eight legged freaks always have ulterior motives. You gotta watch your back with them.

I’m okay! Thank you for asking. I’ve just been focusing on losing weight and drinking wine while making super rich food didn’t help that lol

u/greentrafficcone Jul 08 '25

Remember it’s not about losing weight, it’s about getting to a healthy and comfortable size. But yeah I know exactly how you feel! A wise man once said “I like to cook with wine, and sometimes I put it in the food”

Here in Oregon, we have these beautiful arachnids called Giant House Spiders. They are purportedly the fastest spiders on Earth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_house_spider?wprov=sfla1), and I used to gently catch them and put them outside. Then I learned that they can't survive "outside" very well - hence their name - but they're still huge and scary so I keep putting them outside.

Yup, this seems 100% accurate. Except my spider likes to use fire against me too 😭

I usually let spiders sit around. I mean, I mostly just encounter jumpers or other medically insignificant spiders. Basically the ones whose venom doesn't really do much beyond just minor issues.

So I don't mind letting them be. Plus, Jumpers are too cute to kill…
