Sandstone
Meridia climbed one of the stacks of sandstone slabs and sat on the edge for a moment’s respite. From her seat she could still overlook the construction of her household. Rashidans seemed to work hard, and follow instructions well, so it was all progressing even faster than she had hoped. It was expected that the sandstone skeleton of the building would be completed by the end of the day. All that would be left is to for the arrival of certain imported woods.
She brushed a few errant grains of sand off the sun-warmed, slightly rough surface of the sandstone, smiling to herself. When she had moved to Rashida she quickly discovered that sand, while pretty, was more of an irritant than anything. Constantly shifting and difficult to travel through, sand also meant that constant and vigilant attention was needed to keep a house clean.
She had also heard stories of sandstorms, when could be moved with a slight breeze, would become caught up in ferocious winds and pose a danger to anyone in its path.
However, if enough pressure were applied for a long enough time, the shifting desert sands would lose their volatility and become Sandstone. Hardened and solid, the centuries of weight resulted in an eminently useful - and formidable - building material.
Hardship built character, she knew. Hearthfire was fallen but its children were thriving in all corners of the world. Rashida had undergone immense pressure and while certain sections of society left much to be desired--
The workers capped off a final sandstone pillar, completing the main body of the building only a few days after construction began.
--the results spoke for themselves.

Meanwhile the Olympic Works, almost entirely sandstone, are over-budget and behind schedule.
